Our Farewell for Freya 💔🌈🐾
We are saddened to share that our sweet girl crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday, cancer has taken our Freya far too soon. The last of the original Petanna girls that many of you have met over the last 10 years.
We are both devastated of course, every one of our pets are special and their loss felt deeply and nothing really prepares you for when they are gone!
For me sharing what she ment with people who just ‘get it’ is cathartic. Keeping her close to my heart and sharing our story of the love that transformed my life is how I’ll pay tribute to her.
Freya aka little dottie or t***s came to us by pure chance and we fell in love with her straight away though the big girls (labs) took a little more convincing as she zoomed around on her first night 🤣
She was a typical spaniel born ready to run and she never stopped right to the end!
She soon settled right in with her big sisters and excelled as shop mascot where she entertained, modelled and tested making sure everyone knew who really ran the show!
Fun a plenty with Lisa’s purse chase and Lauren, Carol, Maureen and Kats hot sausage pursuits and head and butt scratches - she really loved you all!
Her duties also included deliveries and over the years and she’s whipped us all in to shape teaching us the give a sausage game!
As the years moved on the younger Petanna girls came along and she took on the Matriarch role with ease if not good grace ❤️ they were devoted to her and she taught them almost every trick in her book!
Her life has been so enriched by David and Kate as well as Mandy who all supported Freya to realise she could travel in the back of a van and still have fun 😜
Our lives have been filled with fabulous walks and trips out in the camper, holidays and the odd pub or cafe lunch as well and chasing her around the house for the clothes she ‘stole’ and of course loads of cuddles from our Tootie Monster who was happy to toddle by our side until she could run in an open field.
She dropped her hours in the shop a few years ago to be a companion dog for my sister Gillian who passed recently too and she was such a good girl at that too! They cooked, baked and sang through the days and shared so much joy! Many, many great memories - her ever so loud welcome for Auntie Wendy and the race for Grannies cupcakes and her stand offs at supper time! Wow that girl could stare you out!
Thanks so much to dear Hazel who pushed through my hesitancy at getting a spaniel and gifting me this sweet girl ❤️
Thanks to Freya my soul dog it felt like you could read me like a book, so intuitive and always near, head down and butt up 🐾
You’re no longer at our side but you will always be in our hearts. I loved you your whole life and will miss you the rest of mine. You gave me the best years of my life
Good bye to mummies sweet girl 🥲💔🐾
