At the end of February, I was contacted by the owners of this handsome chap, Norman. They were worried his quality of life had taken a dramatic downturn and feared they might have to consider euthanasia, as his spark seemed to have faded.
Norman has lived with an elbow deformity his entire life, but he’s always coped remarkably well, such a little trooper. Recently, though, he had started falling over, and the legs that had spent years compensating were beginning to struggle.
We reviewed his medication plan and supportive therapies, and decided to introduce acupuncture alongside his pain relief.
Within 24 hours, he was back to his usual happy self, greeting everyone with his favourite soft toy. Since then, he’s been having acupuncture every week or so, and each session gives him another boost.
We’re keeping everything crossed that this continues for a long time yet, he truly is such a social, special character. 💛
