Yesterday, we had to make the hardest decision of our lives and say goodbye to our beautiful girl.
It still doesn’t feel real that Mila isn’t here. She was so much more than a dog - she was our family, our constant and such a huge part of our lives. We have a lifetime of memories with her that we’ll carry forever; the adventures, cuddles, silly moments, her cheeky personality and all the little things that made her Mila 🤍
The last four months have been the hardest journey we could ever have imagined. Since her surgery in April, there have been hospital stays, tests, medications, infections, setbacks, I countless vet visits and so many nights spent worrying about what the next day would bring.
Through it all, Mila fought incredibly hard. Every little improvement gave us hope and we did everything we possibly could to give her more time. We were even lucky enough to get the news that she was well enough to come on holiday with us, giving us precious memories that we will forever be grateful for. 🥺
But eventually, we had to accept that loving her meant putting her first and letting her go.
Yesterday, we made the heartbreaking decision to end her suffering peacefully. As much as it has broken our hearts, we know she deserved to be free from the pain and everything her little body had been through.
We don’t want to remember Mila for the last four months. We want to remember her for everything that came before them — for the happy, funny, loving girl she was and always will be to us.
Thank you to everyone who has followed Mila’s journey, checked in, shared her story, donated, supported us and sent messages. Your kindness has meant more than we could ever put into words. 🤍
And to our beautiful girl…
Thank you for every memory, every cuddle, every adventure, every laugh and every moment you gave us. We wish we could have had more time. Just one more day. One more walk. One more cuddle.
But if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. 🤍
Run free now, our beautiful girl. 🌈🐾
No more pain. No more hospitals. No more fighting.
Just endless fields, sunshine and all the treats you could ever want.
Until we meet again, Mila.
Our girl. Our heart
