WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 1PM FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK! 🌞

Due to the increased temperatures and the freezer heat in the shop, as well as the extra large glass windows, in the afternoon, our shop front can become unbearable (we are in the process of getting air con sorted) 😵‍💫

Whilst this is a big hit for our shop, its just not fair for our staff! But please be sure to come and get what you need in the mornings before 1pm 🙏🐾

THIS DOES NOT EFFECT DOG GROOMING SERVICES AS THE BACK OF THE SHOP/GROOM ROOMS ALWAYS REMAIN EXTRA COOL! 🐾 SO THESE APPOINTMENTS WILL STILL BE GOING AHEAD ✂️

Many of you have had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy, one of our furry sidekicks! You probably heard him snoring before you saw him 😴🤣 Jimmy was born blind in one eye, and after numerous ops it’s still causing major issues 5 years on! So tomorrow, Jim Jam is having his eye removed❤️ it’s a worrying time but h is future will healthier and he will be happier 🐶 Give Jim your well wishes🥰♥️ He will be having lots of treats when he’s back behind the till♥️

SHELLEY WHITE & STANS STORY! Taken with permission from “French Bulldogs UK” page. SUCH an important read in this heat ☀️

A few years ago, not long after we got Stan, we took him out to our local pet shop. It was a very hot day, around 26 degrees, but he was in an air conditioned car. We crossed the carpark to the shop (less than 100 meters) & went inside the air conditioned shop. He was panting quite a bit, so one of the girls in the shop gave him a big bowl of cold water. He had a drink & we walked around the shop. We bought him a cooling vest, cooling mat & some freezable treats. He seemed calm as we left & got him back into the car with the air con already on.
Then things took a massive turn. Stan couldn’t stop panting & was panting really heavily. He was drooling excessively & his tongue & gums were going blue. Also he defacated all over the car. I called his vets from the back of the car & they said get here asap. It took us over half an hour to get from the shop to the vets due to traffic. By the time we got him there he was in a really bad way. Temp was 39.5 & he was close to permanent brain damage. The vets acted extremely quickly & got our boy into a metal tray with water in, a fan on him & oxygen blowing into his face. It took 45 mins for his temp to go down.
That was just from going from an air con car to an air con shop. I can only imagine what would’ve happened if I’d been walking him in that heat.
Why am I telling you this?
Because every day this week, when the temperature has been over 20 degrees I’ve seen some moron walking their dog & not just frenchies either!! It makes me so mad. We could’ve lost Stan that day & im just so thankful he’s still here.
Dogs don’t die from missed walks.
