Cat Patrol like so many other rescues are sadly full to capacity.
They have no more space until more cats and kittens are adopted or fostered.

Here's a post I have avoided writing... But sometimes you just have to let go.

As many of you know little Clarence was rescued by myself and Paul at just four weeks old.
As he got bigger and met his older sisters there was some friction which I thought would go in time.

Sadly it just got worse. Saffie in particular never accepted Clarence and there was always conflict. As he got bigger, he decided he was the man of the house and would find it his mission to annoy the girls as much as he could each day. He even made poor Minx fall into the swimming pool one day!
We tried keeping the cats separated, we bought expensive plug ins that were supposed to create a relaxing atmosphere. They didn't work.
If anything things got worse.

The girls - both now classesd as 'geriatric cat's' were hurt by Clarence diving on them. Whilst it may have been fun for him it was stressful and painful for them, especially as their arthritis got worse.

When we moved back from Turkiye I hoped Clarence would start to mellow a little. But he didn't.
After spending Christmas together in a hotel and with no home for us in sight I decided to put him into a cattery. As soon as he had gone I saw how much happier Saffie and Minx were - and how calm our environment was.
Waiting to finally get a home took a long time so in the meantime I found somebody to foster Clarence. Once that ended another foster was found. The lovely Zaynah and her son were very happy to have him as they had recently lost their fifteen year old cat, Eddie to kidney disease.

What started out as just a temporary solution has now became a permanent one where Clarence is finally king and is very much loved by his new family.
I'll admit I have struggled to let go and I'm sorry Zaynah for keeping you guessing at times.

It's hard to say goodbye to this little boy - a cat loved by Paul as much as by myself but I'm grateful to those that helped me get him out of Turkiye and happy he has a perfect new Family.
An ex friend told me to leave him behind at Paul's complex because he would be 'fine' - but I don't have that kind of hardened heart and would never have left any of my cats behind.

Keep loving life wee man ❤️ love always from the lady that rescued you from a big scary basement. X

On I'd like to share a little about the reality of cats being born on the streets in countries such as Turkiye where I currently am.

Two days ago myself and my travel friend learnt that the mother of three four week old kittens had died after being ran over by a car.
One kitten in particular, a little girl had a severe eye infection and the others had eye infections also. They were so small and dirty that after we had heard this news we gathered them up and brought them into out room where they spent a night having moderate diarrhea.

In the morning and after speaking to hotel staff we decided to get vetenairy help for the kittens and to try to find a foster home or sanctuary for them.

After a visit to a private vet and learning that he did not know about anyone doing fostering in this area he recommended the new government animal shelter. I told the vet that we had heard many horrific stories about shelters here in Turkiye and that actually we had a foster home for them in Fetiyhe (about a four hours drive from Belek). He however promised that this will be a well run shelter and that he personally knows the vets there.

When myself and my friend took the kittens to the shelter yesterday we asked for the vets email address so that we could be updated on how the kittens were doing. We also needed reassurance that homes can be found once they have had all vaccinations. The little female kitten we were told will also need to have her right eye removed as sadly the herpes infection has left it permanently damaged.

We are pleased that we have heard back from the vet that we met yesterday and the news is positive
We will ask for an update and pictures in the upcoming weeks.

Big respect to my friend Karen for paying for the private vet consultation, eye drops and roundtrip taxi drive to take the kittens to the shelter. ❤️
- another huge cat lover like myself who recently rescued a little kitten from Sheffield Street Cats.

Also thanks to the taxi driver whoever he is for getting us there after many wrong turns where I did say the F word a few times because I was so tired from the night before. Bless him, he was kind to the kittens and gave discount.

Make no mistake though there are many, many bad government shelters here in Turkiye and dogs fair really badly since the new 'massacre law' but cats are tolerated more and we truly believe these ones will be lucky like my Clarence and get caring, loving homes which is so much better than living on the streets. 🙏

Navigating how best to help vulnerable animals found on the streets is not easy but we are glad that these wee ones are safe and getting the medical care that they so desperately needed.
In this country people are used to cats and dogs of all ages playing by busy roads and whilst so many kind Turkish people and expats do feed them and leave out water when it comes to getting them the help that they need that does not always happen.
Vets charge for their services even when it is so often obvious that an animal has been living on the streets and quite honestly most people cannot afford the expense.

If you are on holiday - or in my case are visiting a country for another reason please do what you can to help a little soul that is in need.

You may be the only hope that they have.

Hello from sunny Bedford where I am currently looking after two adorable foxy little dogs. ❤️❤️

I know that it has been a while since I posted on here - actually it was just before lent when I decided to do a fourty day fast from social media that I last posted.

Since then I do not scroll nearly as much as I used to and have taken the last few months to deal with a health diagnosis of Fybomalgia after feeling really unwell for a long time. On top of this I was unable to find a rental property since returning from Turkiye which as you can imagine was very stressful and unsettling.

however I am pleased to say that I finally have a lovely apartment and that my health is slowly heading in the right direction thus why I am looking after my friends dogs. ❤️
My cats are very settled in the apartment which they love and my boy cat Clarence is very happy and loved in his new home. I will talk about the reason for this another time.

I actually met little Wilma (the orange dog) back in 2018 when I looked after her and her little doggo brother who is sadly no longer here.
Seeing her again with her much whiter face has been a delight as has been meeting Pickles her big sister. Both dogs were born in Romania where sadly life was not kind to them. Fast forward to now and they are both very loved family members living their best lives. ❤️

I am now slowly open to doing house and pet sits again but in the Nottingham area only.
I can take care of cats, rabbits and small dogs only.
I can also be available for dog walking.

As tommorow is the start of lent I have decided that I will give up social media and not chocolate until Easter!

Here are my beautiful senior ladies, Saffie and Minx looking resplendent even after all that they have been through - never ending health problems, being separated from me, the long journey to get back to the UK and now calmly waiting for our forever home.
I'm sure that they get more beautiful every day - and they certainly get more loving.
