What an incredible third trust-building session with the beautiful and regal Nala yesterday 🤩🐾

Nala didn’t have the easiest start in life, so understandably she takes a little extra time to trust and adapt to new people. Thankfully, she truly landed on her paws with her owner, Ali Sabba, who has shown her exactly what a loving, responsible owner should be. The bond they share is amazing to see. Through consistency, firm boundaries, patience, and so much love, Ali has created the safety and stability Nala needed to begin trusting the world around her and enjoying life again.

When Ali needed a regular dog walker for Nala while he’s working, I was genuinely honoured to accept. We’ve been taking everything at Nala’s pace through trust-building sessions, with Ali leading while I accompany them and gradually build our connection.

Nala has shown such incredible willingness and progress already. It didn’t take long before she was happily taking her favourite treats from my hand — and honestly, I expected this to be a much longer process! She continues to amaze me. She now allows me to take the lead, follows my guidance confidently, and even seems to genuinely enjoy my company 🥹

It’s such a huge achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. I feel very privileged to be part of Nala’s journey and to watch her confidence grow with every session.

Good girl, Nala 🤍 I can’t wait to continue supporting your progress and be by your side on this journey.

Looking after these two monkeys was (as always) a delight 🤩
I feel very privileged that they feel so safe and comfortable with me. Mr Malcom adores his family so much that I was fully prepared for him to feel a little anxious today. I knew he would need a lot of reassurance and love and I can confidently say that he knew he was in safe hands. Would he prefer his family…? Absolutely, every day of the week without hesitation ❤️ However, there’s always going to be the odd occasion where Mum and Dad need to pass the baton over briefly 😁
I think I was a reasonable stand in until they were home 🙏🏼❤️🤣

A few boundaries were attempted to cross but they know me…. I’m a tough cookie and that’s why they trust me.

Building trust with dogs like Malcom doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from consistency, patience, understanding their triggers, respecting their space, and making them feel secure at all times. Once you’ve earned their trust, they are deeply loyal, highly sensitive souls who need calm leadership and people who truly listen to them. Watching Malcom relax, settle, and choose to trust me is something I never take for granted.

He’s absolutely flat out after a long walk in the woods, lots of play and lots of love!! Of course we had to stop by at home so my daughter could give him a fuss 😁

What a good boy he is 🤩 I can certainly see why he was awarded his bronze medal last week - there’s no doubt he’ll smash his silver and gold! Well done mate 🐕
