We offer a range of horses from homebred youngstock, imported mare lines, and some riding horses.

A little practice outing this morning for Margaux. As with young horses, best laid plans etc.. 🤣

The first class was VERY exciting, there was a lot of squeaking and airs above the ground and trotting was mainly interspersed with headstands 🙄

By the second class adrenaline levels had dropped and she was pretty much foot perfect. She loaded and travelled on the lorry beautifully on her own, her first road trip ever. So we’ll take that as a successful day out, she’s learnt a lot today! Fantastic turnout of 5 haflingers at this local RC show, lovely to see everyone today.

Third day under saddle, we going solo already, stop/start mastered. Steering might need a bit of refinement, but she’s brilliant so far. Front shoes on tomorrow and then we’re off! Temperament and trainability is so important in our broodmares. We start all our young mares under saddle before they have a foal. It stands them in good stead for their future.

Very clever Soleah, first day under saddle and she didn’t put a foot wrong! Looking forward to working with her over the summer, she’s got a great attitude. 🤩

A good outing today, some of the work we show at home is finally starting to appear more consistently in competition, some 8’s creeping in now! A bit of self belief restored!

Beautiful yearling filly for sale. Imported last September, she’s now maturing into a lovely young horse. Well handled, she’s likely to make around 14.2hh. Sweet natured, up to date with vaccinations etc. An abundance of mane to tame!

So proud of these two boys today! Sancho and Siskin joined their new family today. Loaded and travelled beautifully, negotiated several new situations en route to their field, met their neighbours graciously and settled down to graze in minutes. They join Oxnead Megan, who I worked with when she was a very young horse, she’s now 27!

The highs and lows of owning and breeding horses..

My week has been an absolute rollercoaster, started with great news with more mares in foal.

Tragically we lost the beautiful Acona on Monday night, just days before she was due to join her new home. Absolutely heartbreaking all round 💔

Sancho has now found his new home, which I’m so happy about, he’s just the nicest boy!

Mabandi has had a little trip to the vets today to be AI’d with an exciting new stallion that we were able to acquire frozen semen from 🤞

Sometimes you need to dig deep and hope for the best, the sun always rises, even in the darkness, it still embraces the light..

One of my ambitions as a breeder has to been to work towards better movement in haflingers. This young horse is a great example of my end goal, his mother is a British elite mare from Stratos, (2025 World Show Champion) Hobart Socrates is his sire. Light on his feet, athletic and full of presence, a joy to watch. 😍

Tadpole, gradually unfolding. He’s a lovely boy, very pleased with him. Now to think of a nice name! He’ll be available after weaning in October. 😊
