Lovely drive around Silfield last weekend, cool breezes made it a perfect temperature and the Old Boy was very well behaved!

And just like that, the Royal Norfolk show has been and gone! We’ve had a hot couple of days stewarding at the show and have seen and been impressed by how well all the livestock and horses have been cared for in the heat, especially on Wednesday. Lots of shade, fans, water, cool down water stations and a team of vets on hand in case of problems. The grand parade of animals was cancelled on Wednesday because of the heat, so the livestock stayed in their cool sheds.
Tbh, a lot of the animals were cooler at the show than they would’ve been at home in their fields. Most competitors travelled to the show in the cooler days before the show or overnight, rather than the heat of the day. It was an honest display of great animal husbandry and animal welfare and huge thanks to the RNAA for their preparation and care.

Another beautiful day for a drive, this time through Great Melton, Little Melton and Hethersett. This is the restored Great Melton Church tower and it’s a lovely quiet spot, with the bluebell wood opposite the church. Aaaaand relax!
