The end of August 💜

What fab month August has been, getting to look after, walk and train some amazing dogs and the cherry on top of this month Naboo won her first clear round in agility supported by my amazing friends and family 🥰

(Plus Naboo wanted to show off her new collar, it’s Italian leather 💁🏻‍♀️🇮🇹)

We spend a lot of time asking our lovely clients to leave us reviews…

So we thought it was only fair that we give our four legged clients a review too 📝🐶

After all, I spend a LOT of time with my clients, so I feel pretty qualified to give my professional opinion 😂

From excellent sniffing skills, fast zoomies and some seriously good cuddling 🥰

But in all seriousness, I feel incredibly lucky to work with such a wonderful bunch of dogs. Every dog has their own personality, quirks, strengths and things they’re working on, and that’s what makes them so special.

And just to be clear…

Every single dog I work with is a good pup!! 10/10 would walk, train and cuddle again 🐶⭐️

Having a puppy is full of highs, lows and everything in between 😂🐾

There are the moments where you think “I absolutely love this little dog”… followed shortly by “why are you eating that?!” 🙃

But amongst the toilet accidents, sleepless nights, chewed shoes and moments where you question whether you’re doing it right, there are SO many little wins worth celebrating!!

The first wee outside. The first successful recall. Choosing to check in with you. Settling on their bed. Walking nicely with you (for a few steps 😅). Seeing their confidence grow 🥰

They might seem like tiny things, but they’re all part of building the foundations for the dog they’re going to become 💜

And if you’re currently navigating puppyhood and want a little support, puppy classes start next Wednesday evening! 🐶

📍 Wagdale Private Dog Field
🕖 7pm
📅 6-week course starting 19th August

We’ll work on confidence, engagement, recall foundations, loose lead walking, settling, social skills and so much more, all using positive, reward-based training.

Putting dogs first will always be part of the job 💜

As temperatures climbed, our usual routine went out the window. Group walks became early morning or late evening adventures, some walks were changed to check ins with enrichment and garden time, and every decision was made with one thing in mind: the dogs’ wellbeing.

Of course, that comes with its challenges. For many of us in the pet care industry, hot weather doesn’t just change our days, it affects our businesses too. Shorter walks, cancelled walks, rearranging schedules, and adapting services can mean taking a financial hit. Which makes things hard when we don’t know how long these heatwaves will be here.

But I’d much rather have a dog miss a walk than risk them becoming unwell in the heat.

I’m incredibly grateful to all of my clients for being so understanding and supportive this week. Thank you for trusting my judgement and for always putting your dogs first alongside me. It means more than you know.
Here’s hoping for some cooler weather soon... although I don’t think the dogs have minded all the extra sniffing, paddling, frozen treats, cuddles and scent work 🐶☀️

24/06/2026

It’s a hot week, which means we’re swapping long walks for something a little different 🫶

Instead of being out in the heat, Naboo and I have been keeping busy with some scent work 👃✨

Scent detection is a fantastic way to exercise your dog’s brain without putting extra strain on their body. It’s low energy, low impact, can be done in the shade or indoors, and gives your dog the opportunity to do what they do best: use their incredible nose!

Just a few short searches can leave your dog feeling mentally fulfilled and ready for a well earned nap, making it the perfect activity for warmer weather!

If you’d like to learn more about scent work and give your dog a fun new hobby, send me a message about my upcoming scent detection classes 🐶💜

If your dogs have been on a walk with me before, you’ll know just how much I love Wagdale 💜🐾

It’s my favourite private dog field for group walks, (and only a little bit of a biased opinion 😅) plenty of space for the dogs to explore, sniff, play, train, and just be dogs. Whether we’re practising recall, enjoying a mooch around the field, or somehow convincing everyone to sit nicely for a photo, it’s the perfect place for our adventures ☺️

There’s nothing better than watching a group of happy dogs enjoying themselves in a safe, secure environment, and Wagdale gives us exactly that!

A pretty special place for some pretty special dogs 🐶✨
