What a difference a day makes!

We had a lovely walk at Mousehold yesterday, inspecting the remnants after the fire & watching a tractor clearing everything out of the way. (It’ll take a long time to get used to the changes, but new growth is evident!).

Today we experienced a whole new weather system & our first taste of autumn - definitely much colder & wetter than we’ve been used to…

There should be a collective noun for Cockapoos as there are so many of them around, & we’re thinking a Chaos would be a good place to start. We have more of them on the books than any other breed, & they usually make up well over half of all our groups. (Although Winnie 2 clearly inherited all the Spaniel genes, she genuinely is one of them too. Which one could she possibly be?!!).

One day we’ll arrange a party, & invite Archie, Bentley, Bingo, Jessie, Mabel 2, Mawgan, Rose, Rosie 3 & Storm along too…

We hadn’t planned on stopping by the river this morning, but Rosie 3 found something lovely to roll in, took everyone with her and suddenly a dip became essential. (Thankfully, we can’t smell them now!).

It’s beyond heartbreaking to see the devastation at Mousehold after last week’s fire, but all credit to the fire service for putting it out as quickly as they did - honestly, it could have been so much worse. The acrid smell still lingers like an unwelcome guest, & the dogs didn’t know what to make of it all…

(These were taken near Vinegar Pond, so not far from the car park on Gilman Road & multiple houses).
