✔️ 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲
Only walk before 8am or after 8pm. If the pavement is hot on your hand, it’s too hot for paws. Walks with water for them are an extra win.

✔️ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 & 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱
Close curtains, use fans, and create cool resting spots.

✔️ 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀
Multiple bowls, topped up often. Water could be pre cooled.

✔️ 𝗡𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀
Cars become deadly in minutes — even with windows open.

✔️ 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 & 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆
No fetch, no zoomies, no high‑energy activities. Calm, quiet enrichment only.

✔️ 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Damp towels (to lie on not over the dogs), cool mats, paddling pools, frozen Kongs, frozen treats.

✔️ 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀
Excessive panting, drooling, wobbling, bright red gums, vomiting, collapse.
Cool immediately & contact a vet urgently.

✔️ 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵‑𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀
Flat‑faced breeds, older dogs, overweight dogs, puppies, and dogs with medical conditions need extra care.

✔️ 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁
They restrict panting — basket muzzles only if needed.

✔️ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 & 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲
If in doubt, skip the walk. Missing a walk won’t harm them — heatstroke will.

Enjoy the summer weather safely and if you want to go out in the sun, leave your dogs home!

🐾 This is Hunter.

He doesn’t ask for much.

A warm place to rest his head. A hand to lean into. Someone to come home to.

Hunter came to us the way so many do — uncertain, a little scared, not quite sure if this time would be different. But every single day, he shows up with a wagging tail and a heart full of hope, as if he genuinely believes that today might be the day someone chooses him.

He’s patient. He’s gentle. And he’s been waiting longer than he should have to.

Somewhere out there is a couch with his name on it. A yard where he can finally run free without wondering if he’ll have to leave again. A family who will look at him and think, he’s exactly who we were looking for.

That family could be you.

Hunter isn’t looking for perfect. He’s just looking for his person.
