📚🐴 Back to school… and back to a routine! 🐴📚

With the kids heading back to school this week, it got us thinking about how nice it is to get back into those familiar routines — early mornings, muddy boots, horses waiting at the gate and plenty of time spent doing what we love! ❤️

September always feels like a fresh start, and there’s something rather lovely about having a horsey place that feels like home.

Whether you’re getting back into riding after the summer, looking for a change of scenery, or simply dreaming about having a little more time with your horse, September is a great time for new beginnings. 🐎🍂

And speaking of new beginnings… there may just be a couple of spaces becoming available at Ivy Lodge 👀

🐴🦏 FROM COMBERBACH TO THE JUNGLE… WHAT A DAY! 🐘🐒

Today, three of our lovely liveries — and their equally lovely ponies Paddy, Yogi & Alan — headed off to Home Farm for the Chester Zoo Annual Fun Ride, raising money for Breast Cancer. 💕🎀

And what an adventure they had!

I’m fairly sure this was the first time our three boys had encountered rhinos, elephants, wild cats and monkeys… although I’m not sure they were quite prepared for the wildlife at Chester Zoo! 😂

Surprisingly, none of the above are regular sights around rural Comberbach…🤣

What a brilliant way to start the Bank Holiday weekend! ☀️🐎

As Paddy, Yogi & Alan are all field mates, we’re expecting a very detailed debrief around the water trough tomorrow.

Who knows what tales will be told… and who will exaggerate the size of the rhinos! 😂🦏

A huge well done to everyone who took part — and we hope you’ve all had the most fantastic day! ❤️

🍦 SUNDAY FUNDAY AT IVY LODGE LIVERY! 🐴☀️

What better way to spend a sunny Sunday than with fabulous horses and equally fabulous people! 💕🐎

Today, a few of our lovely liveries decided on an impromptu yard outing to The Ice Cream Farm — and what a brilliant time was had! 🍦

Whether they rode, walked… or even drove their way there, everyone got involved and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon out together. 🥰

There are some super pictures from the day… and then there are some questionable ones that probably should never see the light of day! 😂📸

It’s days like today that make Ivy Lodge more than just a livery yard — it’s a lovely bunch of people, great horses, plenty of laughs and making memories together. ❤️

Here’s to more spontaneous adventures, sunny Sundays and plenty more ice cream! 🍦🐴☀️

🌱 In a summer drier than Gandhi’s flip flop… we still have green stuff! 🌱

And no, I don’t mean weeds — actual grass! 😂

While most yards are posting pictures of brown, stressed grazing, our horses are still enjoying plenty of the green stuff. That’s the benefit of not overgrazing — happy horses, healthy paddocks and grass that can actually cope when the weather turns dry. 💚🐴

And we’ve got TWO stables becoming available later this month! 🐎

You can choose from:

🌿 Private paddock – your own space for your horse
🐴 Herd grazing – and when we say herd, we mean it! Both of our main group paddocks are over 9 acres each, with just 3 horses in each. Plenty of space to roam, graze and actually be a horse.

If you’re looking for somewhere with space, excellent grazing and a relaxed approach to keeping horses, get in touch.

Today we're celebrating the incredible horses that make Ivy Lodge Livery such a special place. From early morning greetings to peaceful hacks, training sessions, and plenty of well-earned treats, our horses bring so much joy every single day.
