A slight course alteration for 2027.
Thinking ahead with next year in mind, I'd like to pinpoint my focus onto ravens. Particularly captive bred ravens. No I absolutely will not be breeding but I will be looking to offer a safe haven for captive bred ravens that owners can no longer manage.
Like with many other animals there can be multiple reasons for rehoming. Changes of circumstances, ill health, the bird being more 'difficult' to keep than expected etc.
This means I will be moving away from the rescue of wild corvids and pigeons. I will be keeping hold of the birds that I have already which consists of 28 pigeons, 4 parrots, a crow and a jackdaw but I won't be taking any more.
I will always consider very short term care of emergency cases provided a referral is already in place. I am still always here to advise. Fortunately there a quite a few other rescues for pigeons which is great but there seems to be a real lack of facilities and expertise in ravens.
I've always had a deep rooted love for ravens and have spent many years observing them in the wild and doing extensive research and reading other peoples research. They are highly intelligent birds that need more care and attention than people expect.
I would like to provide a safe space for these birds to be surrendered to in difficult situations. This is going to take time to set up but plans are already in place. Its exciting! Watch this space!!! ππ¦ββ¬
