EQUINE VETERINARY SURGEON – MATERNITY LEAVE COVER
RW Equine Vet is an independent, family-owned veterinary practice based in the heart of the beautiful East Sussex/Kent countryside. We are looking for an experienced equine veterinary surgeon to join our team on a maternity leave cover basis.
About the Practice
We are a small, friendly, and personal equine practice with a strong focus on providing exceptional veterinary care and outstanding customer service. Our well-equipped facilities include a surgical facility for standing procedures.
Our diverse client base ranges from leisure riders and happy hackers to top-level competition riders. We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our clients and tailoring our service to meet their individual needs.
We are a genuinely supportive team that enjoys working together and helping one another. We hold regular team meetings to discuss cases, share ideas, and learn from each other's experiences. Our highly efficient and experienced office team plays a vital role in supporting our vets. By managing the majority of administrative tasks, they help minimise paperwork and allow our veterinary surgeons to focus on clinical work and client care.
The Role
Ambulatory equine veterinary surgeon
1 in 6 on-call rota
Maternity leave cover position
Start date from August 2026 (flexible)
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive, independent practice. While the role is initially to cover maternity leave, there is potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate following the cover period.

Candidates must:
Be registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
Be eligible to work in the UK
Have experience in equine ambulatory practice
