A reminder for rabbit owners about RHD2 vaccination 🐰
RHD2 remains a serious threat to pet rabbits. The virus is highly contagious and can be spread through direct contact, contaminated items, insects, and other indirect routes.
Because the disease can progress rapidly and is frequently fatal, prevention is especially important. Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to help protect rabbits.
The Nobivac Myxo-RHD PLUS vaccine is still essential to protect against Myxomatosis and other strains of RHD. However, it is not licenced to protect against the newer, more virulent strain of RHD2.
Luckily the new Yurvac is designed to provide protection against the newer, more virulent strains of RHD2.
There should be a gap of two weeks between the two vaccines. Please give us a call to book your rabbit in to ensure they have the best protection possible 🐰
