🌾 Grass seed alert!

This tiny grass seed was found hidden in between a dog’s toes during their groom – swipe to see it once it had been removed! 😳

Grass seeds can quickly work their way into the skin, causing pain, infection and often an expensive trip to the vets.

A quick check of your dog’s paws after every walk can make all the difference. Regular grooming also helps by keeping the hair between the pads and toes nice and tidy, making it much easier to spot and remove grass seeds before they become a bigger problem.

This is one of the many reasons we love our job. Grooming isn’t just about making dogs look lovely – it’s about keeping them happy, healthy and comfortable too. 🥰

We’ve had another busy week in the salon and have loved meeting some lovely new faces! 💜

A huge welcome to Diesel! What an amazing boy he was. Coming into a new environment with new people can be a little scary, but he took everything in his stride and was an absolute angel from start to finish. We can’t wait to see you again soon! 🥰

Tilly also came back for her regular pamper, and it’s always so lovely seeing her come bursting through the door. We absolutely love having you with us! 💕

Our gorgeous Doodle girls came in looking very fluffy after picking up lots of grass seeds and weeds. This time of year they can be really dangerous if they aren’t removed properly, so it’s always worth checking your dog’s coat after walks. They finished off with a deep conditioning treatment, leaving their coats looking and feeling beautiful again. ✨

We’ve also got some really exciting things happening behind the scenes, so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks… we can’t wait to share them with you! 👀

We would just like to say a huge, huge thank you to our amazing staff who have worked tirelessly through the 30°C heatwave we have experienced this week.💛🐾

While temperatures have been soaring, our team have gone above and beyond to make sure every one of our cats and dogs stayed safe, comfortable and cool. Starting work at 6:30am every morning and not leaving until late, taking shorter lunches and breaks so they could continue checking on all the animals, refilling water bowls, changing / wetting towels and making sure every animal had the extra care and attention they needed.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all of our wonderful customers for being so understanding and patient with us this week while we have been getting the animals cool, comfortable and settled into their pens. Your kindness and support has been hugely appreciated while our teams focused on putting the welfare of our animals first.

We are so thankful for the team we have because without them, we’d would be lost. Their dedication and compassion is what makes Cottage Garden Cattery and Kennels such a special place.
The commitment to every single animal in our care never goes unnoticed, and we are so incredibly grateful for every single one of you ⭐🐶🐱 x
