Another Fox Red Lab joins the gang today.

Reggie joins the other Fox Reds Ferdie, Bowie, Hester, Roxy and Nala. They are a very popular breed right now it seems!

At 8½ weeks he's the youngest and smallest of them all but I think he's going to be a big lad in just a few months time.

What a fantastic dog Little Poppy has matured into.

We've walked her since she was a young pup and for the longest time she'd try and herd anything on wheels. Buses. Bikes. Cars. she cared not a jot - if it was on wheels it was getting chased.

Thankfully that eventually passed and now a few years on she's just a brilliant dog, full of personality and love.

Today I had her on her own, that rarely happens as we're just so busy these days. We had a brilliant walk around Monkseaton 🤩🤩🤩

Today we:

✅ Met big, fluffy retriever in North Shields.

✅ Walked on the little walls in the new bit by the bus station.

✅ Got a stroke off some little kids.

✅ Watched some scaffolders.

✅ Sat on a bench and watched the world go by.

Positive interactions build your puppies confidence. Some down time helps them process and realise not every second of the day is play time.

Wow!

Check out Ernie. He's only been on group walks for a few short weeks since graduating from puppy visits.

⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐

He's gone from initially being super excited on group walks to this in no time, literally I would say 4 weeks.

THIS is the value of getting things right 1st time around.

There are no ingrained, unwanted behaviors. There's no re-learning what should have been taught 1st time around. There's nothing to unpick and put right.
................

If you have a puppy then the golden window of opportunity for you to achieve Ernie levels of brilliant behavior and loose lead walking is earlier than you might think.

Leave it too late and you run the risk of having to retrain rather than educate correctly on the first go. This will frustrate you and your dog and cost you a lot more time, energy and money.

Put the effort in. It's honestly worth it.
