Progress can be measured in so many ways & we must always make the effort to recognise such moments, whether it's relevant to dog, handler or both Yesterday, Viggo the CCR joined a small group session for a Walk Up. When he first came to train, he would shake like a jelly, looking for an exit if a person he didn't know moved unexpectedly or tried to touch him. His owner Binni Millichamp has worked so hard with UDT to build his gundog skills, giving him confidence to do the 'job' he has been bred to do. He was so focused on doing what he loves, he didn't pay any attention to the others & completed every retrieve with steadiness, speed & style. A joy to watch & a moment to celebrate!

Today we had a lovely group of puppies & owners for our INTRO TO GUNDOG TRAINING WORKSHOP.
Fig Black did a demo for everyone to give the owners an insight as to what it is all about. We then worked with each puppy to guide them with place boards, heel, recall & direction games. What a superb group of puppies, who all showed great promise! 🤩
Thank you to Hayley Leighton-Evans for the use of your great venue.

THEY DID IT!!!
Congratulations to Peter & his exuberant Flatcoat, Hattie for passing their UDT Gold Gundog Award today! The final exercise included the hardest part for Hattie which was to walk off lead around the field perimeter & ignore the fall of 5 dummies, then to retrieve them, as selected plus ignoring distraction marks. A proud moment when she absolutely nailed it, what a star 🤩

Another great result today, this time for Rachel (& Matt, of course!) for training Bowdi & passing their UDT Silver Gundog Award!
Steadiness has been hard for this exuberant young Flatcoat but with lots of patience, repetition & reward, he made it look easy as he sailed through the final three exercises. Well done 🤩

Congratulations to Fiona Sheppard & her pocket rocket, Piper for passing their UDT Silver Gundog Award this evening. Just the final exercise of hold, wait & recall 20m was between them & today they totally nailed it! 🤩🤩
