Congratulations to one of our Junior Handlers, Barnaby for being the youngest to pass the UDT Silver Gundog Award!
He has worked very hard to perfect the final three exercises which he completed today with his superb Labrador, Buddy. Well done 🤩😁

Keeping dogs & people cool was the order of today's UDT Training Day! With Mud Daddies, water & shade & Carolines Spa Spray Mist, we worked through several different exercises.

The morning consisted of Marks, Memories, an Obedience exercise and a Blind with shot.

After a short lunch break & more water dousing, we moved onto more testing questions but keeping distances short so not to over work the dogs. These included a Hunting exercise on woodland, a double Mark with heel work and the competitive retrieve was a Mark as a distraction to a Blind hidden amongst the hazels & cover.

All did very well with one clear winner scoring 20/20 - Anne with her spaniel Lilly.

Junior Handler Award went to Barnaby handling Buddy (Lab)

A huge thank you to our helpers, Jim, Jen, Julie. Binni & not forgetting Glenn (as I did earlier 🙃) and to the landowners & gamekeeper for the use of their superb grounds.

Wow, what a day! Fig Black (Undercliff Skylark) was part of The Southern Area Flatcoat Team, competing against eight other teams from around the UK. She was such a poppet all day, scoring 20s in three tests & coming 1st= in NDNH overall. We had a very pressured run off for first place, in front of all the competitors but sadly made a mistake!!
A wonderful day, our team came 4th. Great company & a real treat to see so many Flatcoats together 🖤😁
