Bathing, Drying and the T&C's for the season
✨️Bathing - Before your clip, ideally the day before. Shampoo using the likes of a rubber /plastic curry comb to really get into the coat please pay close attention to the top of the hind quarters, their back and make sure they are very well rinsed off.
✨️ Drying - I understand bathing and drying isnt ideal for all my clients especially when it starts to get colder. To help dry if you do not have a solarium accessible to you start with the sweat scrapper, then have a large clean towel or two and towel dry all over, use a wool or fleece cooler rug to wick away the remaining moisture. If you have a walker available this will also help drying or a handwalk with fleece on.
✨️Too cold to fully bath or dry - spot bath the worst areas and dry the same as above and give a good old fashioned arm sore thorough groom.
✨️You are responsible for bathing and grooming your horse prior to my arrival unless we have arranged additional services. I don't want to arrive to horses/ponies caked in mud as this affects time allocated, quality of clip, your horses comfort during clip and blunts my blades. If your horse is clippable but is significantly dirty there will be a £10 dirty horse fee added, if your horse is too dirty to clip then I will cancel the clip and a hourly rate (£15) fee applies + travel costs
✨️ If wanting a bath and solarium (metered) dry at your premises, the meter charge will be included in your bill.
✨️ Cancellation Policy - 48hrs + no fee, 24 to 48 hrs 50% booking fee applies, Day of appointment 100% booking fee applies. Please note fees are applied or waived at my discretion for re-booking, special or other circumstances
✨️ Sedation - Proper sedation is the owners responsibility to organise. I expect full honesty from clients this is my full time job and I do not want to be put in situations that are unnecessary..last clipping season I had a couple too many callouts where I had been told the horse is good to clip and it had definitely not been the case. If this happens I will stop the clip and will not offer to book you in for another appointment. If you do not know how your horse will react, If you have bought a horse who you've been told is good to clip but has not been clipped with you, do let me know so I can schedule in more time and we can get a suitable plan in place. Please note I will not be booking full clips (including legs) for horses needing sedation. Please do not put your horse, myself or any additional hands at risk of unnecessary injuries. The moment I start to feel like clipping is putting one of us at risk of injury I will stop the clip immediately and we can re-asses the situation.
Thank you
Caroline Erwin
