A little reintroduction… since I’ve had a lot of new followers ✨
For those of you who are new here hi! I’m Emily, owner of Fluff & Flair and the girl behind the magic ✂️🐾
I’ve been grooming for six years, but my journey in the industry actually started from the ground up beginning as a grooming assistant, learning the foundations of the job, gaining hands-on experience and eventually finding the part of grooming that I truly fell in love with.
In April last year, I finally took the leap and created Fluff & Flair. 🤍
I wanted to build something that was completely mine, but more importantly, I wanted to create a space that felt special for the dogs coming through. A space where beautiful grooming and high standards could go hand-in-hand with patience, comfort and individual care.
Somewhere owners could leave their dogs knowing they weren’t simply another appointment in the diary, but that their personality, their boundaries and what makes them comfortable would be understood.
16 months later, Fluff & Flair has become so much more than the little idea I started with, and I’m incredibly proud of the community that has grown around it.
And of course, I couldn’t reintroduce myself without mentioning Monty. Most of you will already know him from some of his slightly crazier looks, with his latest transformation being Pete’s Dragon 🐉.
He’s become my little creative canvas and the perfect way for me to bring some of the ideas in my head to life.
Although… I think it might be time for his next transformation 👀 What should Monty become next? Drop your wildest suggestions in the comments, you never know which one I might choose.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. At home I have my family Yorkie, who I’ve shared the last nine years with, and over the years my little family has included everything from reptiles, hamsters and guinea pigs to my micro squirrels. 🐾
Throughout my grooming career, I’ve continued to invest in my professional development, expand my knowledge and push myself outside of my comfort zone. It’s also given me some incredible friendships within the grooming industry and opportunities I never imagined when I first started.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to receive recognition along the way too, including becoming a finalist in the Celtic Coat in 2025 & 2026, I’m A Groomer Get Me Out of Hair 2026 and the Liz Paul Awards 2026 all in the creative category ✨
the part of grooming that really has my heart is creative grooming. 🎨
There’s something about starting with an idea and watching it come to life playing with colour, design and detail and creating something completely different. It’s the side of grooming where I really get to combine my love for animals with my love for being creative.
But no matter how creative the groom or how beautiful the finished result, the dog underneath it will always matter more.
For me, great grooming isn’t just measured by the photograph at the end. It’s the trust built appointment after appointment, learning what each individual dog needs, knowing when to slow things down and creating an experience where they can feel safe and comfortable in my care.
I want you to love how your dog looks when you collect them but I also want your dog to be happy to walk back through my door the next time. That will always be one of the most important parts of what I do. 🤍
Over the last 16 months, I’ve loved getting to know every one of my regular clients and their little personalities, while continuing to welcome so many new faces into Fluff & Flair.
