🐾🌈 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆! 💕✂️

Who says the dull, dreary weather has to mean dull and dreary doggies? 🌧️😂

Our gorgeous wee Honey has been adding a little colour to the world, and we’re absolutely loving it! 🥰🌈

Sometimes it’s the smallest little touches that make the biggest difference, and a pop of colour is the perfect way to show off a bit of personality! 💖

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀! 🐶✨

Because here at 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, we do love a doggy with a little extra sparkle! 🐾❤️

🌧️🐾 𝗦𝗼𝗴𝗴𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀, 𝗺𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘄𝘀 & 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻! 🐾🌧️

Well, the weather certainly isn’t putting this lot off their adventures! 😂🐕💦

All dressed up in their colourful waterproofs and ready to tackle whatever the Northern Irish weather throws at them! ☔️

But all this rain, mud and damp weather is a perfect reminder of just how important 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀! ✂️🐾

It’s tempting to leave our dogs’ coats a little longer when the temperatures drop, but 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿!

Wet, tangled or matted coats can hold moisture against the skin, making our dogs uncomfortable and potentially contributing to skin problems.

✨ 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼:

🐾 Keep coats clean and free from mud and debris.

🐾 Prevent knots and matting caused by wet weather and winter clothing.

🐾 Maintain healthy skin and coat condition.

🐾 Keep paws tidy and free from built-up dirt.

🐾 Make sure our dogs are comfortable whatever the weather!

Remember, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼! ❤️

So don’t let those grooming appointments slip just because summer is over. A well-maintained coat is important all year round.

Now, if only someone could explain to this lot that they don’t HAVE to find every muddy puddle! 🤣🐾

🐩💕 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐳𝐳𝐲! 💕

Our gorgeous wee Izzy the Bichon was back for her regular 6-week pamper, keeping that beautiful fluffy coat looking and feeling fabulous! 🛁✂️🐾

🍂❄️ 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?

As the colder, wetter weather sets in, it’s tempting to let our dogs’ coats grow longer to keep them warm… but 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫!

When a coat becomes wet, muddy or matted, it can actually make it harder for your dog to stay comfortable and warm. 🌧️

🐾 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫!

It helps remove trapped dirt and debris, prevents uncomfortable matting and keeps the coat clean, healthy and easier to dry after those soggy winter walks.

A well-maintained coat is far more beneficial than simply allowing it to grow longer. 💕

And little Izzy is the perfect example of how a regular grooming routine keeps our fluffy friends looking gorgeous all year round! 🥰🐩

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐭, 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐠! 🐾❤️

🍂🐾 𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐍 𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐓! 🐾🍂

Just look at the beautiful 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐮𝐥𝐜𝐢𝐞 🥹🤎

Freshly pampered and looking absolutely gorgeous after her groom — that little face is just too much! 😍✂️

With the leaves falling, muddy paws making their comeback and cosy season well and truly here, Dulcie is all neat, tidy and ready for her 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 🍁🐾

We may be biased… but we think 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫! 🧡🍂

Absolute little sweetheart 💕🐶

🧸🐾 𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐠… 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐫?! 🐾🧸

Just look at wee 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞 😍
Honestly, could he BE any more adorable?! That wee face, those teddy bear cheeks… we just want to squish him! 🤎

And while Reggie is looking all fresh, fluffy and handsome, here’s your little reminder that 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭! ✂️🐶

With all this 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐦𝐮𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬 🌧️🐾, coats are getting damp and dirty much more often — and damp coats can tangle and matt surprisingly quickly.

Keeping up with regular grooming through the wetter months helps keep those coats clean, comfortable and matt-free… even if they’re straight back into a muddy puddle five minutes later! 😂🙈

Because apparently nobody told the dogs how much their groom cost… 🤦‍♀️🐾

𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬! 🧸🤎✂️

And what better face to start with than 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗧 🥹🤎

28/09/2026

🐾✂️ W𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝! ✂️🐾

We’ve had the BEST weekend at the International Grooming Conference — and I’m coming home with a head absolutely bursting with new ideas, tips and techniques! 🤯😂

The speakers were incredible, the dogs were so beautifully behaved and, of course, ridiculously cute. 🥹🐶

I genuinely adored them all, but the Bichon, Westie, Miniature Poodle and Cocker Spaniel completely captured my heart. ❤️ I could quite happily have sneaked a few of them home in my suitcase! 😂

But weekends like this are about so much more than learning a new hairstyle or watching someone create a beautiful groom.

✂️ T𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠.

We learn about what’s happening underneath the coat — the structure and anatomy of the dog, different coat types, how and why hair grows the way it does, how our techniques affect the coat, and why the same approach simply doesn’t work for every dog.

There are so many factors behind a really good groom that our customers never necessarily see.

And that’s exactly why we keep learning. ❤️

Even after years in this industry, there is ALWAYS something new to discover, another technique to improve and another bit of knowledge that can help us do better for the dogs entrusted to our care.

Now it’s time to bring all that knowledge back home to Absolutely Barking and put it into practice. 🐾✂️

W𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠… 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭. ❤️🐶
