🐱 Meet Gizmo!
Gizmo came in to see our vet Tash, as he had an ear that looked as though it was stuffed! Tash quickly determined this was an aural haematoma, which happens when a small blood vessel bursts and fills up the ear until it resembles a tiny cushion
First, Gizmos ear was drained leaving it a bit like a deflated balloon. Then Tash, with the help of one of our nurses Meg, stitched the two sides together. They used buttons to help keep the stitches in the ear, to keep the ear flat while it’s healing, and to stop the ear filling up with blood again. These buttons will be removed when the stitches are, they won’t be a permanent accessory for this handsome chap!
