After picking up my new car, Susannah, yesterday, she completed her maiden voyage this morning with the beautiful Callie on board!

Over the coming weeks I'll be gradually kitting Susannah out to ensure your pets are as safe and comfortable as possible during their journeys with me.

A larger car also means I'll be able to expand my current services, including group and adventure dog walks, plus pet taxi transport for local veterinary appointments, referral visits further afield, grooming appointments, and more.

I'm looking forward to putting Susannah to work and welcoming plenty more four-legged passengers on board! 🚗🐾

Puzzle Feeders
One of my favourite enrichment items for pets!

Puzzle feeders come in all shapes, sizes and difficulty levels. Once your pet has mastered one, you can increase the challenge to improve their problem-solving skills and keep their brain active.

You don’t even need to spend any money, as homemade puzzle feeders can be just as engaging. Try hiding dry food in an egg carton, scattering kibble in a cardboard box filled with scrunched-up paper, or putting wet food into an ice cube tray. You could even freeze it for an extra challenge, or to help pets keep cool on warmer days.

Puzzle feeders are great for:

- Mental stimulation: Especially important for indoor cats who may become bored without adequate opportunities to hunt and explore.
- Physical stimulation: Encouraging movement and activity, helping pets maintain a healthy weight.
- Greedy pets: To slow down eating and reduce gulping food.
- Anxiety: Useful for distracting pets during potentially stressful situations such as fireworks, visitors or being left home alone.

Here is Crystal the cat is showing off her puzzle feeder skills during this morning’s drop-in visit. I always find it interesting watching how different pets approach the same puzzle. Some use their noses to move pieces around, others use their paws or mouth... and then there’s always one who discovers a shortcut and simply flips the whole thing upside down! 😂

Safe to say I will not be offering this service — sorry guys 🤣

If you’ve spotted one too many creepy crawlies this Halloween, UK vet nurses have a new trick up their sleeve ~ a humane spider removal service!

Lots of different pets have kept me company this week, both in practice and out and about 🐾

From Monday to Wednesday I was at Hafren Vets, where it was my week in theatre. I prepared patients for surgery, monitored anaesthetics, assisted the vets in theatre, and discharged patients home to their families.

From Wednesday night onwards, I swapped scrubs for pet sitting with the lovely Ernie & Penny. Thursday brought a pet taxi trip and a nail clip, and on Friday I popped in to see sweet little Tilly! Over the weekend, I’ve been enjoying some more drop-ins with Peach 🐱.

Here are some of the happy faces I’ve had the pleasure of looking after!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of keeping Celt company while his owners celebrated their wedding. Doesn't he look handsome in his bow tie?!
