Honestly, who could resist those hugs? 🥹❤️🐾

Sometimes a cuddle from a four-legged friend is exactly what you need after a long day! 🐶💗

We think Tilly might have made Becky’s day a little bit better! 🥰

💜 The People Behind Sore Paws | Meet Tara

Confident, hardworking and always keen to learn something new, Tara has been part of our team for well over a year. Her deadpan humour keeps us smiling, and her commitment to her patients and colleagues has made her a firm favourite in the team.

So what are we doing? 👀

Here she is with Sarah, our Veterinary Director, learning a surgical technique called a Morgan’s pocket to repair a bulldog’s cherry eye. It’s delicate work, and a lovely example of how sharing knowledge and supporting each other helps our team grow. 💚

Sharing skills and having someone alongside you as you try something new is an important part of Veterinary Medicine and life at Sore Paws.

At home, Tara has a much-cherished little poodle of her own—so she knows just how much the animals we care for mean to their families. 🐩

Has Tara looked after your pet? We’d love to hear about it in the comments—and see a photo of your furry family member too! 💜

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE CARE 💚
Meet Gabby, our very own gentle giant.

Over six feet tall and built like a bear, Gabby is an absolute softie. This photo probably tells you that better than we can. 🥰

Gabby qualified over six years ago and spent five years working in a referral hospital. He brings a wealth of medical knowledge to our Aycliffe team, with a particular love for emergency and critical care. His surgical skills aren’t too shabby either! 😉

But alongside that knowledge is a really lovely person, with a gentle manner and plenty of affection for his patients.

We feel very fortunate to have him on our team.

Has Gabby looked after your pet? We’d love to hear your stories—and see their photos—in the comments. 🐾

🦷🐱 Orioh popped in for a dental check!

Our team had a good look at Orioh’s teeth and gums to make sure everything was looking healthy. Regular dental checks are a great way to spot any changes early and help keep those little teeth in tip-top condition! 💙✨

Well done, Orioh! 🐾🦷

🔎 FOUND A LUMP ON YOUR PET?

Don’t ignore it! 🐾💙

At Sore Paws, we can assess your pet’s lump and, where appropriate, use Vista IQ — our advanced imaging technology — to give our vets more information when assessing lumps and bumps.

📞 Contact Sore Paws Newton Aycliffe to book a lump check.

🐾 Meet Fudge!

Fudge came in to see us for her second vaccination and was very happy to make the most of the treats on offer!

She enjoyed some liver paste while having her vaccination — definitely one way to make a vet visit a little more enjoyable! 🐶💕

Well done, Fudge! We can’t wait to see you again.
