As Halloween is fast approaching, I thought it might be useful to provide some advice on keeping your dogs safe and happy during the season.

πŸŽƒ First up, Pumpkins! Small amounts of pumpkin is safe for dogs to eat, but there are a few things to be mindful of. Be sure the Pumpkin is fresh and has contained no candle wax. Be vigilant when on a walk for any discarded Pumpkins, as you don't know how fresh this may be.

🍬🍭 Sweets are all around this time of year. Be sure if you have any trick or treat stashes that they remain out of reach of your dog. Not only are sweets and chocolates bad for dogs, but they can also pose as a choking hazard.

🐢 Dogs and trick or treaters. Some dogs may find the increased knocks on the door stressful and may find the costumes scary. If you think your dog may feel this way you can provide them with a den to hide in, put a sign on your door asking for people not to knock (you could always leave an honesty box of sweets outside if you would still like to be involved), and pheromone sprays/plug ins such as adaptil and pet remedy may also help.

πŸ¦‡πŸ•ΈπŸ•· Halloween decorations are always fun, however if your dog is prone to eating things they shouldn't then be extra careful where you display your decorations! I've seen a number of dogs who have eaten plastic spiders and bats!

πŸ‘»πŸ’€πŸ‘ΉπŸ§›β€β™‚οΈ You can't have Halloween without Halloween costumes! This can often include our pets! And while some dogs are quite happy with being dressed up (used to wearing jackets and jumpers), some can find if distressing. Read your dogs body language πŸ’•
If your dog is happy getting dressed up, I would love to see some photos of them!

ATTENTION DOG OWNERS ❕

Hundreds of dead crabs have been found along the coast between Ryhope and Seaham, potentially caused by a chemical spill. People are advised to keep their dogs away from the whole East Durham Coastline.

Now that all of my amazing clients are aware, unfortunately I have some sad news to share. Due to unforseen circumstances I am no longer in a position to offer dog daycare. As you can imagine this has been a very difficult decision and not one that I have taken lightly. I am so grateful to all my clients from over the last 6 months and feel blessed that I've been trusted with looking after your doggys πŸ’• the last day for daycare will be Wednesday 13th October.
Going forward I will still be offering nail clipping, microchipping and running dog first aid classes, so my page will remain active for this.
Thankyou all once again for all your support. And dont be a stranger, Pablo and I would love to still receive photos and videos of all his wonderful friends ❀ 🐢
