KODA 🐾💙

We just can't get over how absolutely adorable Koda is! 😍

The top two photos are from when we first met him, and the bottom photo was taken just two weeks later when he came in for his final puppy vaccinations. Just look how much he's grown in such a short space of time! 🥹 And judging by those wonderful paws, we think he's going to be a very big boy! 🐶🤭

Giving puppies lots of fuss, cuddles, and treats isn't just for our benefit (although we definitely enjoy it! 😂). It's a very important way of helping them build a positive association with visiting the vets, making any future appointments and treatment they may need much less stressful.

Koda, you really do brighten our day every time you come to see us. We can't wait to watch you grow into a very handsome young man! 🥰💙

Say hello to the brilliantly named Redneck – aka Big Bird! 🐓😎

Surely one of the coolest chickens you'll ever meet! 🤩

Redneck recently came in to see us, and we absolutely loved seeing her. She’s full of character and has quite the story to tell!

Redneck is living a life just like the chickens from Chicken Run 🥹 She and five other hens escaped from a commercial farm and survived in the wilderness for around a week. Sadly the other chickens fell victim to Mr Fox 💔, but Redneck was very lucky to be rescued by one of our amazing nurses.

Since then, she's been living her best life, enjoying five-star treatment, plenty of love, and the freedom to be the happy chicken she was always meant to be 🥰🐓

Chickens are really intelligent, inquisitive animals with their own unique personalities, and Redneck certainly proves that. She has completely stolen our hearts! ❤️

It was lovely to see you again, Redneck. Long may your adventures (of the safe kind!) continue 🧡

Just look at these two adorable little ones that came to see us recently 😍🐭

Handsome Kermit came to see one of our lovely vets and brought his best friend along for support too 🥰 We absolutely loved meeting them!

Rats are incredibly intelligent, affectionate, and full of personality. They thrive on companionship, which is why they’re happiest living with a rat friend, just like Kermit and his little pal 🤍

It was such a pleasure meeting you both - we hope to see you again soon! 🐭💕

BUZZ 🤍🤎

Gorgeous Buzz the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel stayed with us for a dental recently, and what a superstar he was! 🥰

He recovered brilliantly from his anaesthetic and wanted food the moment he woke up 🤭🍽️

Once he’d had something to eat, Buzz decided that our nurse Kerri’s hand made the perfect headrest while he relaxed and waited to go home 😂💤

It was lovely to have you with us, Buzz. We loved looking after you 🤍🤎

NANCY 🖤

We recently had the most beautiful little girl, Nancy, in with us for a dental procedure 🥰

She is the sweetest little girl, and our nurses absolutely adored her from the moment she arrived 🤍 In fact, they loved her so much they just had to stop for a little selfie together! 📸😍

Chihuahuas may be tiny, but they certainly have huge personalities - and Nancy is no exception! She completely charmed us all with her adorable nature and was an absolute superstar throughout her stay ⭐

It was such a pleasure looking after you, Nancy. We can't wait to see you again! 🖤

🌾 Lovely Ripper is here to remind everyone to keep an eye out for those naughty little grass seeds! 🐶💚

Ripper recently came in to see us after getting a grass seed lodged where it shouldn't have been. We're delighted to say he made a speedy recovery and is back to his happy, adventurous self 🥰

Although they may look harmless, grass seeds can cause big problems. They can easily become lodged in your pet's paws, ears, eyes, nose, or skin, where they can burrow in and cause painful infections. In many cases, they need to be removed by a vet.

🐾 After every walk, especially through long grass, remember to:
✔️ Check between your pet's toes
✔️ Look inside and around their ears
✔️ Brush through their coat, especially if they have long fur
✔️ Remove any grass seeds you find before they cause trouble

⚠️ Signs to look out for include:
• Excessive licking or chewing at the paws
• Head shaking or scratching at the ears
• Sneezing repeatedly
• Squinting or watery eyes
• Limping or painful swellings

If you think your pet may have picked up a grass seed, don't wait-give us a call so we can get them checked over.

EINSTEIN 🤍🖤

The fabulously named Einstein wanted to show everyone what a good boy he’s been during his recent laser therapy treatment 😍

It was his very first session, and he was an absolute superstar ⭐⭐ To make the experience even more enjoyable, we made sure there were plenty of yummy biscuits before and after his treatment 🍪🤭

Judging by that smile, we think he thoroughly enjoyed himself! 🤩

We’re so pleased you’re enjoying your treatment, Einstein, and we look forward to seeing you again soon 🤍

YOGI 🖤🤎

The very handsome Yogi Bear came to visit us 😍

Yogi is the most stunning Gordon Setter and gives the very best cuddles 🤗

During his stay, he made sure to thoroughly explore the whole practice, enjoyed the cool air conditioning in the kennels ☺️, and had a fabulous run around in our lovely big garden 🏡🐾

He was such a pleasure to have with us for the day and kept us all entertained with his happy, friendly personality 🥰

You were so much fun to have here, Yogi - you can come and visit us anytime! 🖤🤎

It's getting warm again! 🥵

To help keep your pooch cool during these hot spells, we have cooling bandanas available to purchase in practice 🐶❄️ We also have delicious doggy ice cream sandwiches if your four-legged friend deserves a little treat... and let's be honest, don't they all? 😋🍦

🌡️ Remember, heatstroke can become a life-threatening emergency very quickly.

Some signs to look out for include:
🐾 Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
🐾 Excessive drooling
🐾 Lethargy or weakness
🐾 Vomiting or diarrhoea
🐾 Bright red gums or tongue
🐾 Collapse or seizures

The best treatment is prevention:
💧 Always provide fresh water
🌳 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car
❄️ Provide plenty of shade and cool places to rest
