A fabulous day in the sunshine as we hosted Area Polocrosse today. Lots of people to thank, Tracey Wilton and Chris Wilton for the venue, Helen Harris for first aid, Tanya Dennis Lesley Ford and Karen Tewson for keeping everyone fed, Laura Scott and Ursula for training and expert knowledge, Zara for all the jobs, the SDW polocrosse members and adults for preparing the venue and Nell Candelaria for making today happen!
Thank you to Devon and Somerset Pony Club, South Devon Moorland Pony Club and Little Margate Equestrian Centre for joining us today.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all the riders who took part today, some over coming a few nervous wobbles, some learning new skills but everyone supporting team mates.
Well done to SDW members Cerys and Abi who did really well for only their second go at Polocrosse!
SDW Mini riders James and Hattie battled hard to finish equal 1st!🎉🎉🎉
Hattie also won the Horsemanship Award chosen by Laura Scott. 🎉🎉🎉
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to SDW junior team, Aiden, Harry and Georgia. Great team work and super skills shone through. The improvement in the team skills from last year was plain to see. The team battled hard in every match to come 1st!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

A reminder to anyone entering the Area Polocrosse Training and Competition Day on 13th June - entres are due on TUESDAY.
No previous experience needed - come and have some fun. On foot or ridden.
Learn a new sport and have fun. Any age welcome from lead rein to senior. Equipment provided.

At The Pony Club not every badge needs a pony!
Today a group of SDW members met at South Devon Dairy to learn about Countryside Access from Philip Hackett the BHS Access Field Officer for the South West. It was a wet and windy day and Niall Tewson very kindly let us keep dry in a cow shed. This made looking at maps ALOT easier! Philp and Lynsey then took the group for a walk using the maps and the features they could see to follow the route. By the time they returned an hour later the rain had stopped!
Thank you Philip for your time and expertise and well done to Mia, Brooke, Poppy, Evelyn, Esme, Freya, Faye, Cerys, Hannah and Poppy on passing their badge.
