Whilst we try to do as much of our treatment and investigations in pet’s familiar surroundings and in front of owners it isn’t always possible to see what happens on the other side of the van doors! Hopefully these pictures show what Mercury-Vanlife looks like! Our Ops and Xray vans are like mini vet clinics on wheels, containing all the equipment you might find at a traditional practice! An unintended advantage of this is that everything is LITERALLY within arms reach at all times!

You might remember that some time ago we had Josh Iskander Photography visit us to take some behind the scenes shots. We thought it was high time to share some with you! First off here is our Class Photo of 2026. Our team might be small but we think perfectly formed!

A wonderful charity, that we work closely with. 🐶🐱

Our beautiful Buddy arrived with us 4 years ago today!!
Still waiting patiently and ever hopeful to find his forever home!
Is there anyone out there with a Buddy size hole in their lives??

Some days are measured in cups of coffee... others in piles of dirty surgical kits! 😅

A busy day with plenty of procedures, and this was the aftermath waiting to be cleaned and processed.

Huge thanks to our fantastic team, who always pull together to get everything turned around and ready for the next patient. It's not always the glamorous side of veterinary work, but it's an essential one—and great teamwork makes all the difference.

We were happy to go to ARC Animal Rescue Centre Devon this morning for one of our regular visits neutering dogs and examining kittens to help get them ready for their new homes. ARC is an independent rescue centre in Ottery St Mary. Thankfully we could find some shade to park the van in!

What is good-value veterinary care?

To us, it's about providing affordable care every day, not just during a time-limited special offer. After all, you never know when your pet might need an X-ray, blood tests, surgery, or dental treatment.

It's about offering a range of diagnostic and treatment options, not just what might be considered the "gold standard." While the gold standard is often ideal, it isn't always necessary, practical, or affordable for every family or every situation. There should always be another option. Good veterinary care means tailoring our recommendations to each individual pet and owner.

It's about making the most of the simple, sensible steps first, avoiding unnecessary procedures, and using our experience and clinical judgement to achieve the best possible outcome.

Most importantly, it's about listening. We take the time to understand each owner's expectations, explain the options clearly, discuss likely outcomes honestly, and work together to make the best decisions for both pet and family.

Our goal has always been to provide compassionate, achievable, and affordable veterinary care. Whatever your circumstances, we will always do the very best we can for you and your pet.

What does good value care mean to you?
