Update on Mouse - Day 5.
So a few bumps in the road today. Adopting a dog can be challenging, adopting a LGD brings its own challenges (as we learnt with Milo.)
Rehoming a rescue dog found on the streets that’s spent 7 months in kennels Foredowne Kennels & Cattery adds some extra spice.
On the positive side I have been working with Mouse for most of those 7 months with regular walks and desensitising activities.
So the morning was a perfect storm and our first hiccup in what will hopefully be a happy forever after story.

Review of the June/July course by Moira:

I thoroughly recommend the ‘Understanding Dogs’ course. It was fantastic and if I could do it all again I would - 10/10.

Jared’s background in teaching, alongside his enthusiasm and expertise in understanding dogs, resulted in an engaging and very well delivered programme. 2 hours a week over 6 weeks.

It was fascinating to learn why some breeds react so differently to others and how important the right living environment and dynamic is when considering a breed of dog for your household. Also interesting to learn how some of the myths we tend to believe about certain breeds, are just that - ‘myths’ - and are often untrue.

I received a certificate at the end along with slides (after each session) to look back on.

Approaches by an off lead, highly excited ’poo of some kind, owner screaming, zero recall today…
The boys were perfect, calm response, instant recall from Toby. Helped walked the dog back to its owner, no problems!
