I’m Tez, I’m a beagle male with a social, friendly personality. I can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once I’m comfortable, I’m a lovely lad! I’ve had quite a lot of life change recently and I am finding all these changes a little overwhelming. I need a stable, understanding home with plenty of stimulation, company and enrichment. I love sniffing and all the beagley things. A home where someone is around most of the time, with plenty of enrichment and a stable routine, would be ideal for me
________________________________________
Home Compatibility
Children: 12 years + used to dogs. Tez lives with a 3 year old and has a good relationship with them but we feel he now needs adult time after a period of unrest. visiting children would be fine.
Dogs: Tez is good with other dogs. He hasn’t lived with another dog but potentially could with the right dog. He currently has a mix dog walk with a dog walker a few times a week.
Cats: Tez has not lived with cats, so his compatibility with them is unknown.
Home Alone Time: Tez is currently struggling to be left alone and has isolation anxiety. He has recently started chewing furniture, scratching drywall when left. This may be linked to the significant changes in his home life, including a new baby, a house move, a job change and ongoing renovations. He needs a home where someone can be around to provide company and support. He would suit someone home most of the day or working from home. He needs to not be left currently – Tez will need time to settle and build up home alone time again. Tez can open doors and crates, so secure management will be important.

If you are interested in Tez, please fill out the rehoming form on our website: https://stfrancisnewquay.org.uk/adopt-a-dog-form/

The Failed Fosterers Club 🐶💙

The term Failed Fosterer is no negative here at St Francis, it simply means that someone intended to take on a dog short-term but ended up falling head over paws for them. Doodles here was no different. Doodles was taken on as a temporary foster whilst we searched his forever home, once we found a home, his fosterers couldn't bear to let him go and decided to adopt him instead. Since then, he's lived a life full of devotion, care and love, thanks to his adoring owners.

Are you part of the Failed Fosterer Club? If so, please share photos of your pet that accidently became part of your heart 💙

Happy Home Update 💙

Dear little Jack came into our care with severe separation anxiety. After many months of waiting, his forever family finally came along, and since then, it's been a match made in heaven. His owners recently sent this photo they created of him, and of course, a photo of Jack sat in his favourite garden chair 🐶

Taking on a rescue dog can have it's challenges, but the rewards are beautiful. Do you have space in your home and heart for a rescue dog? Visit our website to meet some of our dogs looking of their forever homes: https://stfrancisnewquay.org.uk/our-dogs/

UPDATE: FOSTER HOME NOW FOUND THANK YOU

Urgent Foster Home Needed 🐶💙

We are looking for immediate placement for a 10 year old male brindle Stafford-shire Bull Terrier, due to his owner sadly passing away. He could potentially live with dog-savvy children, but no other pets please. He's described as very affectionate and needing some comfort.

We cannot give any more details at this stage, but if you think you can help, please fill out a foster application form: https://stfrancisnewquay.org.uk/foster-application-form/

SADLY, TESS IS LOOKING FOR HER NEW FOREVER HOME 🥲

Tess’ Daddy is unable to take care of her any longer. We have had her in temporary foster for a few weeks but we have now been asked to find another loving home for her.

She is 10 years old, we think either a Chi Poo or Cava Poo.
We are waiting for all her details to be passed to us but she seems in good health save for a little stiffness in her back legs now and again but it doesn’t stop her enjoying her walks and even a paddle in the sea.

Our fosterer has given us the following details about her:
Tess is a quiet, mild mannered girl who loves a comfy armchair, sitting outside in the garden and her treat ball.
She is really friendly with people but we have no experience of her with children.

She is looking for a quiet retirement home where there are no cats.
She is currently living with another small dog so could potentially live with another older, small dog, although I think her preference would to be the only dog.

Moving from her old home was quite traumatic for her and her fosterers did say that it took her a while to settle so she will require patience when she has to move home again. Her little world has been turned upside down so we are looking for someone who will cherish her and give her lots of time and love.

If you think you could be the perfect match for Tess then please complete the rehoming form by clicking on this link

ANOTHER STAFF AND VOLUNTEER FAVOURITE - OUR NALA 🩷🩷🩷🩷
More videos of Nala in the comments

Nala is a gorgeous Akita X.
She is 5 years old and has been with us far too long and we cannot understand why.
Nala is a clever sensitive girl who loves the great outdoors and exploring new places.
She is the most loyal and sweetest companion

MORE ABOUT NALA:
Loves training and eager to please so would like someone who is up for continuing her training.
Loves people but not keen on other dogs. She can pass them with no issues and is easily distracted but this will need some ongoing training, so she needs to be the only dog in the home and with no visiting dogs.
No young children - 15 plus
No cats or small animals
Travels well in the car
Neutered, fully vaccinated, flea and wormed
Fully housetrained
Sleeps well all night
Walks very well on her lead but she can get excited so will need a confident handler
Moderate to high exercise needs
Favourite hobbies include sniffing games, exploring new places, agility and training,
Dislikes include busy crowded places (prefers calm outdoor environments), being left on her own and dogs in her face.
She does have separation anxiety and would need to be in a home where she doesn’t need to be left. St Francis can support you to resolve this once she has settled into a new home.
Fit and healthy
She will need a properly secure garden with 6ft fencing (an in person home check will be carried out).

Nala has so much love to give and truly deserves a calm, loving home who will cherish her and allow her to be part of the family.
If you are experienced with large breed dogs and a confident handler and looking to give a deserving girl an amazing home, then we want to hear from you.
This beautiful girl has waited long enough and despite her couple of specific needs, we know the perfect home is out there.
We would look further afield (outside Cornwall) for the right home.

MEET THE BUNDLE OF JOY THAT IS BALOU 💜💜💜

Balou is a 7 year old Staffy who came into us through no fault of his own.
The other resident dogs didn’t like him and so he became isolated and because of this he doesn’t cope well with dogs in his face or being vocal towards him in a close proximity. He can pass dogs without issue but he is not good in being in an enclosed space with them.

Balou loves people, loves cuddles, is a total softie and has a heart as big as his waistline, (which incidentally, is considerably smaller than when he came into us 😂).

More about Balou:
He needs to be the only dog in the home
No cats
Can live with old children who would respect him. No smaller children as he is quite a tank.
We are looking for a staffy experienced home.
He can walk nicely on the lead but if he wants to pull, you need to be strong enough to hold him.
He travels well in the car
House strained
Can be left on his own with no issues
Sleeps well all night
Is chemically castrated

He is a favourite with our staff and volunteers so, if you have what Balou is looking for then please complete a rehoming form on this link.

THE VERY HANDSOME BUDDY IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME 💜💜💜💜

https://stfrancisnewquay.org.uk/dog/buddy/

We are looking for an experienced large breed home for Buddy who is a Boxer X Lurcher. Still a young lad at 2 years old, he can have his boisterous moments but all in all he is a large cuddly boy who adores being with his humans.

Buddy has led a very sheltered life in his short years with very little training or socialisation but doesn’t have a nasty bone in his body.

He is neutered, vaccinated and flea and wormed
He travels well in the car. He is fully housetrained.
He loves people and can live with older children but not small ones that could be knocked over.
He likes other dogs and could potentially live with a smaller, calmer dog who can teach him some life skills but who can also tolerate a bundle of energy. He seems to like smaller, spaniel size dogs and plays beautifully with them.

Buddy needs:
Someone who can help him with his training. His lead skills are getting there but he is strong on the lead so will need someone who can handle him while he learns the skills.

He has separation anxiety so a family where someone who is home during the day until this can be worked on.

Buddy is friendly towards other dogs and has some friends who he plays nicely with in our paddocks but when he is on the lead, he does get very excited; all he wants to do is go and play with them, so some training in social skills is required.

A very secure garden is a must.
No cats
No horses close by

This boy deserves the best life so if you have large breed experience and have a Buddy size space in your home and fit the above criteria, then we would love to hear from you.

You can apply for Buddy using this link

Freefalling for Rescue Dogs 🐶

This weekend, in beautiful, sunny Perranporth, some of our sky divers took to the skies, including our amazing Rehoming Coordinator, Nic. Some of our sky divers are still waiting to do their jumps, but for now, please enjoy photos of our amazing sky divers and Nic's incredible video of her charity sky dive.

💙 Has this inspired you to sky dive for rescue dogs? Email [email protected] and we'll help kick-start your sky diving challenge.

Why did our team choose to throw themselves out of a moving plane at 10,000ft? Read their stories below and donate to support the dogs in our care:
