How long to leave a dog without interaction and welfare check is a question we get asked all the time

The RSPCA guidelines recommends four hourly intervals and it’s a “rule of thumb” we have used when setting up our own policies for pet care
All dogs on pet sits receive a visit at 3.5/4 hourly intervals and we aim to complete dog walking sessions following the same thought process

However each dog is individual and needs to have their particular age, personality and capabilities considered

Don’t know that you can contact Pawsquad and have a face to face video call with a vet if you’re concerned about them ?

Beatrix would appear to be preparing for a litter of kits - given what happened with Betty I’m extremely anxious this evening -

How long do I leave her from nesting to a vet check if there’s no babies ?
Is she even in active labour yet?
Do I take salt and pepper away from her ?

I’m not going to lie - my heart is racing !!

But it was so comforting to have a compassionate vet at the end of a video talking me threw what to do

And were booked for another call at 10pm

Yes - it cost £28 !
But so worth it - and much cheaper than waiting till it’s too late and if I need emergency care the cost of the call will be refunded if I need to access the out of hours clinic during the night in order to help Beatrix out !!

We would like to send our very best wishes to Harry and Indeg on their wedding day -
Sadly due to the weather it was decided not to take Purdy to the wedding to be ring bearer - wet dog and white dresses don’t mix but it’s meant that I’ve had the pleasure of keeping her and her mate Tarka company for the day
