Newport Pets Newport Pets is an independent family run pet shop located in Pontfaen, Newport NP19 4TD. We specialise in Parrots and Aquatics.

There is a Parrot Behaviourist and a Canine Nutritionist available for advice in the store. We also have a Dog Groomer on site

You will also have access to a Parrot Behaviourist, if you ever wish to ask for advice.

*Parrots live for a very long time and need a lot of love and attention, we care about where they go so please make sure to research properly before purchasing a parrot.*

The current heat can be dangerous for aquariums, especially with indoor temperatures going above 30°C.

Warm water holds less oxygen and can quickly stress or kill fish.

A few ways to help:
• Add extra air stones or surface movement
• Keep aquarium lights off longer
• Keep tanks out of direct sunlight
• Use a fan across the water surface
• Avoid overfeeding

Do not cool tanks too quickly, as sudden temperature changes can shock fish.

If you need help keeping your tank cool during the hot weather, pop into the shop and we are more than happy to advise.

Feeding once a day is plenty for most fish. A slightly hungry fish is far healthier than an overfed one. It helps keep both your fish and your water in better condition.💧
