Part time kennel assistant position 🐾

We are looking for a kennel assistant to work a couple of short weekend shifts each week exercising, feeding, cleaning etc who can also fill in to cover other shifts as and when needed due to sickness or holiday for other staff and potentially for maternity cover in a few months and probably more shifts for the right person.

Must be reliable, flexible, trustworthy and able to manage all types and sizes of dogs.

Road closed!!!

It seems a small part Whiterails Road is close for work this morning between us and Station road/Briddlesford road roundabout. We were not notified of this so have no idea how long this is likely to be in effect however we can still be easily accessed from the other direction.

I know many people have been looking for kennel space and we have been so busy we have had to turn many away so I thought it worth mentioning we have a short notice space become available from tomorrow (Tues 21st July) until Wed 29th July if anyone can make use of it. Please be aware that we have received a report of a highly poisonous plant being washed up on Bembridge beach.

The plant is Hemlock Water Dropwort (Oenanthe crocata), also known as Dead Man’s Fingers. Even a small portion can prove fatal to humans by attacking the nervous system. It is also fatal to animals.

The plant has a highly poisonous root that looks and smells like Parsnip.

It is highly likely that this is washing ashore due to the recent stormy weather. We advise people, especially with children and animals, to stay vigilant. Please avoid this plant and take extra care when visiting the beach.

As always, please remember if you or someone else is in difficulty on the coast or at sea then please dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
