Another road closure!

Whitcombe Road is closed again at the Carisbrooke Castle end so lots of traffic is diverting down the narrow Sandy Lane!

If you have an appointment today, best route would be via Rookley - Highwood Lane, Whitcombe Road, then turn right into Sandy Lane.

You could come in via the Blackwater end opposite the Toyota garage, but will probably have to battle against lots of oncoming cars!

We all know what it's been like on the Island this week with all the road closures and endless traffic queues!

However, once everyone has got to work, school or the gym, between 10am and 3pm, the roads are suprisingly quiet around Newport!

So don't put off your routine vet appointment, we've plenty of appointments available - just call our lovely reception team to book.

We'd like to wish all our lovely clients a happy Easter weekend.

We'll be closed from 5.30pm Thursday 2nd April until 8.30am Tuesday 7th April.

A full out of hours service is operational for the whole Easter weekend, but we'd rather not see your pets! So don't forget to keep them away from all that yummy chocolate and those delicious hot-cross buns!

WHITCOMBE ROAD CLOSED - 16th to 20th March

Next week, we believe that Whitcombe Road will be closed from Carisbrooke Priory down to the mini-roundabout leading up to Carisbrooke Castle.

We're not sure what times it is closed so please allow extra time for your journey to reach us.

Last night we had a cat brought into the practice who had been involved in a car accident on Fairlee Road, Newport and had sadly passed away.

It is a black female cat with white markings on her face, tummy, paws and tip of her tail.

Unfortunately her microchip is unregistered. Please contact the practice for further details.

Dear Clients

I thought I'd better share this very important post, which our friends at The Carisbrooke Vets have posted regarding Dead Man's Fingers!

As you can read, it is VERY VERY toxic and can be fatal! So if you're walking your dog on the beach, or let them off lead, please be very careful if you see this plant. We don't want any of our furry friends ill over the festive period!

If you are worried that your dog has eaten, even a small amount, please call the practice IMMEDIATELY and make you way in. If we are closed, call our usual number 01983 653769 and follow the instructions to make contact with the on duty vet.
