Our new in-theatre Qalibra CT system marks a significant technological step forward in CT guided surgery. At NEH, instead of simply operating in the CT room, we have purpose built a theatre equipped with CT and fully integrated into our surgery suite. The combination of the in-theatre design coupled with rapid image acquisition and high resolution images makes the process faster and more seamless than ever.
Since NEH installed an in-theatre portable CT in 2013, our surgeons have gathered 13 years of experience scanning over 3000 cases. With the high fracture caseload at NEH, the new facility will allow them to build on their collective experiences and continue to help progress the field of CT guided surgery. .ct

We’re excited to commission our Qalibra CT suite in our newly built third operating theatre, this week. The large bore CT and advanced multidirectional platform from Qalibra brings CT imaging of the lower limbs to standing patients. Under general anaesthesia the upper limbs, neck and pelvis can now routinely be imaged. By building into a purpose built theatre set-up, unique in the UK, NEH will build on its 13 years of experience with in-theatre CT, and with the updated equipment continue to pioneer CT guided surgery. On Sunday, Barbara Stradbroke Avenue (Main Road from Newmarket Town Centre to NEH) will be closed between 08:00 and 12:30 for Newmarket Half Marathon.

Anyone visiting the hospital during this time, should approach via A1303 Bottisham or A1304 Six Mile Bottom.
