ANIMAL PAIN AWARENESS MONTH | CATS | PAIN OR BEHAVIOUR? 🐈⬛🐾
As part of Animal Pain Awareness Month, DWR is proud to be collaborating with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) to raise awareness of the often-subtle signs of pain in our pets.
🐈 Cats are particularly good at hiding pain, so changes in behaviour can be an important clue that something isn’t right.
Look out for changes such as:
• Reluctance to jump, run or play
• Becoming withdrawn or irritable
• Avoiding handling
• Changes in grooming, appetite or toileting
• Difficulty resting comfortably
• Changes in activity levels
💡 What may look like a behavioural change could actually be a sign of pain.
Our DWR Pain Clinic and Physiotherapy team are here to help with assessment, pain management and rehabilitation, supporting your pet’s comfort, mobility and quality of life.
If you notice a change in your cat’s behaviour, speak to your vet for an assessment. 🐾
