✨ NEW BEGINNER GROUP LESSONS ✨

As always, you ask, we deliver!!

We have had some requests for group lessons for riders just starting their riding journey, bookable from Grade 2 (Beginner).
These sessions would be for Grade 2 and 3 riders who are able to independently steer off the lead rein, and are working on developing their trot work. It’s a great opportunity for them to learn as part of a group and become part our our Westacres community!
Paige has been trialling this with her Wednesday 4:30pm group, to great success, so we’ll be making some more sessions available.

A whole day of fun show classes, dressage, showjumping and games rounded off with a Halloween disco 🪩 Including fancy dress competition and loads of fun for both riders and non-riders

🚨 ‼️ UPDATE ‼️ 🚨

🐴 PAIGE’S OWN A HORSE BOOT CAMP NOW ON ‼️ FRIDAYS ‼️ 🐴

After a bit of back and forth, general consensus is that Paige’s ‘Own A Horse’ Boot Camp will run on Fridays starting this Friday 16th October!

If you’re already booked, you don’t need to do anything, but if you’re still looking to join, there are a few spaces left.

Open to all over 18s (whether you attended the previous course or not), Paige will be taking you through a variety of key skills and knowledge essential if you want to own or loan your own horse, or if you just want to know more about all of our favourite subject, horses!

The course will run 6:30-7:30pm every Friday from 16 October to 13 November, and can be booked either as individual sessions or a full course.

Anyone booking the full course will also receive the Finale session 6-8pm on 20 November absolutely FREE! The Finale will comprise a practical exam to show off all you’ve learned and a celebration of completing the course.

£150 for full course including Finale

⚠️ PLEASE THINK OF OUR ANIMALS BEFORE RELEASING BALLOONS ⚠️

We have been completing checks this week ready for our ponies to move back into their winter fields, and while doing so found this balloon, which was clearly a part of a balloon release at the start of the summer holidays.

We’ve blurred out the name as this is not about calling out one person, but instead we’re asking you to think about where any balloons released end up?

Once a balloon disappears out of sight, it doesn’t simply disappear. It eventually comes back down somewhere, and sadly, that could be in a field where horses, cows, sheep and other livestock are grazing. 🐴🐮🐑

Balloons and their strings can cause serious harm to animals if swallowed (and trust us, livestock can, will and do eat anything and everything in front of them). They can cause choking, blockages and painful internal injuries, and can even be fatal. Animals can also become tangled in the strings, causing distress and injury.

We were lucky this time, this balloon came down in a field which wasn’t in use at the time, so there were no ponies hurt, but months later it still looks nearly brand new!! The impact on our animals and countryside is plain to see and long lasting.

🙏 PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE BALLOONS 🙏
If you’re celebrating or remembering someone special, there are so many beautiful alternatives that don’t put animals at risk. If you do use balloons for an event, please also keep them weighted down, and make sure they are disposed of safely when you’re finished.

🤷SCARECROW FESTIVAL IDEAS💡

At the end of October, Westacres always takes part in Sunniside’s Scarecrow Festival. This year, we need your ideas!!

In the past we’ve had giant hay bale spiders, falling riders and much more, so this year we want to hear all your great ideas for our scarecrow.

Nothing is too wacky, and we’ve delivered ambitious in the past. The only requirement is that it needs to be big enough to catch the eye as people drive up the road, but still fit in its usual spot by the gate. All ideas welcome!
