Our Ted, Teddy Boy, Mr Ted, Teddy Bear has crossed over the rainbow bridge.
Ted was one of the OG dogs to join Gosdogwalking in 2018 when he was 5 years old. He was a rescue dog that moved in with his lovely family Kelly and Iain after not having had the best start to his live. He was bullied by some larger dogs in his previous home and was anxious around man as well, so when he came to live with his new family he had to learn what love and safety was, what a proper home felt like and that men can be nice as well!
When he joined us, I spend some time doing home sitting with him, and he was the loveliest dog to be around. He was always up for a cuddle, very curious following me all around the house (yes - also to the bathroom to stare at me whilst I had a wee) :) and he was the best company on the sofa - a real gentle and loving home buddy that loved nothing more than some company.
He also joined us on our adventure walks which he loved - we had so many adventures on beaches, Nature Reserves and parks around Newcastle and Northumberland with the wee man! He was a total water dog and loved a swim, especially if there was a ball or stick involved that he could chase. After many great years adventuring together, Ted's legs couldn't keep up with his mind, and his running became too much. He wished he could run wild and swim and chase, but his little body couldn't manage without suffering for days, so we had to say goodbye to our adventure days.
He was very loyal and protective to the people he loved and trusted, especially his adoptive parents and his home. He was the luckiest boy to have found the loveliest family that he could have dreamed of and was showered with love, understanding, patience and a sense of safety and belonging that he probably never felt before in his life.
We are so sad that he left us, we thought we'll have some more time with him with his 12½years. Teddy will always have a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
He will join his friends Keri, Willow and Sami to have a little OG gathering, until next time Teddy Bear. Much love and strength to Kelly and Iain who have lost their most precious baby boy xx
