This was one of many rabbits I’ve owned, but she was truly one of a kind. I found her and her bonded trio on a rescue page while I was on holiday in Scotland, and the second I saw them, I just knew they were meant to come home with me. I rang the rescue straight away, paid for them over the phone, and we drove over six hours in total just to bring them home.

Later, this little girl developed vertebral disc disease, a condition that affected her spine, movement, and mobility. As time went on she needed more and more support, but giving her that care never felt like a burden — she deserved every second of it.

I completely changed parts of my life around her needs. I adjusted her playpen so she was safe and comfortable, bathed her, constantly changed and washed her blankets, and even bought a dryer because I knew how much extra care she would need every single day. We spent so much time together that our bond became unbelievably close.

This picture was taken on the metro home one day when she suddenly leaned over and started kissing my cheek. I remember sitting there thinking how much love such a tiny little soul could hold.

Caring for her until the very end was one of the hardest but most meaningful things I’ve ever done. She wasn’t just a rabbit to me — she was family, my little shadow, and a piece of my heart that I’ll carry forever.

🌿 FREE bunny food growing right under your feet 🐰 in the grass everywhere I used to be so blind.

These are three types of plantain (not the banana kind!) and all of them are safe for rabbits to eat. You’ll find them pretty much everywhere—lawns, paths, fields… once you spot them, you start seeing them everywhere.

They’re packed with fibre and great as a natural forage snack, which means happy tummies and happy buns 💚

Best part? It’s completely FREE. Just make sure you’re picking from clean areas (no roadsides or sprayed grass).

Nature really said: here, feed your rabbits without spending a penny 😌🌱

Alongside running my animal boarding, I spend my spare time helping my community by supporting stray and unwanted cats in difficult situations. I truly couldn’t do this without the incredible support around me—the community, the connections I’ve built, and others who care just as deeply.

The Cats Protection neutering scheme has been a huge help, along with local rescues who are always there with traps, advice, and a listening ear when it’s needed most.

A recent success story is Derek, who had been living outside for two years and today finally went to his new home. He’s just one of many cats I’ve helped—and I’ll continue to do so.

This is just a little glimpse into what I do, and I’m excited to offer even more once my next shed is built. Lots more to come 🐾

Vet costs are rising across the UK.

New transparency steps, like clearer pricing, should help. But when your rabbit is ill, price lists do not stop confusion, stress, or rushed decisions.

Our Rabbit Welfare Action Team is responding with practical support for rabbit owners, focused on two simple actions.

Ask the options. Plan the cost.

In our new blog we share:
- Why transparency alone is not enough
- The key questions you can ask your vet to understand choices and likely total costs
- How to plan ahead, including budgeting and rabbit insurance
