Murton Equestrian Centre is a fully licensed, BHS approved, family run riding school in Tyne & Wear, owned by Derek & Leigh Belbin. Established in 1976, we pride ourselves in offering quality riding lessons in a safe and relaxed environment, for adults and children over 4 years. Situated a short drive from Whitle

y Bay and Newcastle Upon Tyne, we have ample parking and are perfectly placed for local transport links. We have a wide range of well-schooled horses and ponies to ride for all ages and standards. We have a large indoor and outdoor arena, which allows us to offer all year round riding. Plus an on site rider wear and tack shop for all your riding needs! As well as offering riding lessons, we are also one of the only riding schools in Tyne & Wear where pupils can also follow a comprehensive examination system with the Pony Club or with BHS Progressive Riding Tests/Challenge Awards. We also offer Unaffiliated Dressage and Showjumping competitions, perfect for first timers. The indoor and outdoor arenas are available to hire for horses and dog walking. They are all fully trained to offer riding instruction at all levels, including BHS Stages Training and Road Safety Training. We are licensed by North Tyneside Council. License number: 1600295AW. Fully insured.

Would any be interested in a British Horse Society First Aid Training Course on 14th and 15th July?

The BHS First Aid courses provide a basic overview of first aid procedures, and focus on the injuries most likely to be sustained while handling and riding horses. The course is appropriate for anyone involved with the handling of horses and will also teach you what to do if you are first on the scene of an accident. The emphasis of the training is on providing essential help until a professional arrives. It does include CPR training.

This two day course is for anyone who has had no first aid training, or whose qualification has lapsed. On completion you receive a certificate valid for two years. After completing this, every two years you will then need to do the BHS one day Refresher First Aid Course. Delegates need to be 16 years and over to attend.

This is perfect for anyone aspiring to be a coach or groom on the BHS Pathway.

Looking for the perfect summer activity for your pony-mad child? Our popular summer holiday pony days and equestrian club weeks are back!

🌟 Loan a Pony Day
🕙 10am – 3pm
💷 £90 per day (including VAT)
👧 Suitable for children aged 6+

Children will enjoy:
🐎 Grooming, cuddling and tacking up
🏇 Riding lessons with our instructors
🎯 Mounted games or bridleway rides
🌾 Learning how to feed and care for ponies

C and D+ Test passes on Wednesday - Thanks so much to our assessor’s.

Today ‘Have a Go Tetrathlon’. Shooting and ‘cross country riding’

Tomorrow we have the BHS Ride Safe day and lessons as normal over the weekend.
