🕷 Tick Awareness 🕷
As temperatures rise, so does the activity of ticks—and that makes this the perfect time to start checking your pet regularly 🌞
Ticks aren’t just a nuisance; they can carry harmful diseases that affect both pets and humans. Dogs and cats can pick up ticks during walks, in the yard, or even from contact with other animals. Because ticks are small and often hide in hard-to-see areas, they can go unnoticed while feeding on your pet’s blood 🩸
Regular checks are essential during tick season. Focus on common hiding spots like:
Around the ears 👂
Under the collar
Between the toes 🐾
Under the legs and tail
Around the face and neck
Catching ticks early reduces the risk of disease transmission and keeps your pet more comfortable. If you find a tick, remove it carefully with a tick remover, making sure to get the head out completely.
Prevention is just as important as checking. Talk to your vet about tick prevention options such as topical treatments, collars, or oral medications ✔️
Staying proactive now can save your pet from discomfort and serious health issues later. A quick daily check can make all the difference during tick season.
