A little behind the scenes look at one of our training walks 🐾

Training walks are more than simply taking your dog out for some exercise. Each walk is planned around the areas you’ve agreed you’d like help with, whether that’s calmer lead walking, better focus, recall practice or building confidence outdoors.

Your dog gets individual training and plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore and enjoy being a dog, while you get a little time back in your day. I’ll also keep you updated on what we’ve worked on and how things are progressing.

If you think your dog could benefit from some friendly one-to-one support while you’re busy, send me a message to find out more 😊

I’m proud to be a member of APDT UK
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers 🐾

But what does that actually mean for you and your dog?

APDT promotes training that is kind, fair and effective, with members assessed and committed to using reward-based methods. It means supporting dogs without fear or intimidation and helping owners understand not only what to do, but why it works.

My aim is always to make training feel achievable, supportive and free from judgement, for both ends of the lead!

If you’re looking for friendly, reward-based help with your dog, you’re always welcome to send me a message 😊

No two dogs or their humans are exactly the same, which is why one-to-one training can be so helpful 🐶

These sessions give us the time and space to focus entirely on you and your dog. We’ll look at what’s happening, decide what you’d like to improve and work through it together at a pace that feels manageable.

That might mean improving recall, making walks calmer, helping your dog settle in public or going back to everyday basics. You’ll leave with practical steps that fit into real life, rather than feeling as though you’ve been given a mountain of homework!

If you’d like some friendly, individual support, send me a message and tell me a little about your dog 😊

A few one-to-one training spaces are still available this August 🐾

Perhaps walks have become a little too enthusiastic, recall disappears the moment something exciting appears, or you’d simply like help building your dog’s confidence and everyday skills.

One-to-one sessions are tailored to you and your dog, so we can focus on the things that would make the biggest difference to your life together and as always without any judgement or pressure.

If you’d like to talk through what you need help with, send me a message. I’d love to hear about your dog and see how I can support you both 😊

Lovely Annie has been working on staying calmer while out and about, settling in cafés and building confidence with her everyday skills 🐾

It’s been wonderful watching Annie's progress and a real privilege to be part of her journey. Seeing Annie and Faye being able to enjoy more places together is what training is really all about.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, Faye. Annie has been an absolute pleasure to work with! 💚

If there’s something you’d like a little extra support with, send me a message to chat about one-to-one training.

You absolutely can teach an old dog new tricks, including recall! 🐶

Dogs of every age can learn to come back when called. The key is to work at a pace that suits them, keep training sessions short and enjoyable, and use rewards they genuinely love.

Start somewhere quiet with very few distractions and celebrate every successful return. As their confidence grows, you can gradually practise in more exciting environments.

Our two-week Recall Workshop is suitable for dogs of all ages and begins on Thursday 13th August at 6pm at Chieveley Village Hall.

The group is limited to just four dogs, so send us a message if you’d like to join us 😊

Imagine being called away from the best party ever… only to be taken straight home. Rude, isn’t it? 😂🐶

That’s how recall can feel to your dog if coming back always means the lead goes on and the fun ends.

Try calling them back a couple of times during a walk, giving them a lovely reward and then releasing them to explore again. It helps them learn that coming back to you is worthwhile and doesn’t always mean home time!

Practise somewhere secure or use a long line while your dog is still learning.

Would you like some extra help? Our small-group Recall Workshop begins on 13th August at 6pm in Chieveley Village Hall.
Send us a message to ask a question or book a place 😊

UPDATE: All sorted now, she is well.

Raising a concern for a sheep in the field just behind Great Shefford Village Hall. One of the girls appears to have a puncture wound on her back and flies are going in and out of it. Just worried about her getting fly strike.

Could someone please alert the farmer.
