Good Morning Everyone! ☀️

I’m currently on annual leave until Tuesday 7th July.
While I’m enjoying a little downtime, I thought I’d pop on with a quick non-grooming-related post!

As some of you may already know, my 16-year-old daughter, Abi, has just finished her GCSEs and is taking the exciting step of setting up her own little business in the beauty industry.
To celebrate her launch, she currently has a very limited-clients offer available.

An upsetting but true story.. please please be careful and keep dogs on leads around any livestock.
These incidents should not be happening.

Posting with the owner’s permission in the hope this stops it happening again.

A 26-year-old pony was killed by a dog this morning.

I received a message from a local resident who was worried that one of the horses in a nearby field didn’t look right. I called the owner, she was about 40 minutes away, so I offered to go and check on her.

Sadly, when I arrived it was clear that the pony had already passed away.

I called her owner immediately and stayed with her for a little while, giving her some final cuddles before covering her with a tarpaulin until her owner could arrive.

When the owner arrived, we searched the field together to try and understand what had happened. There was nothing obvious in the field that could have caused injuries like these.

A vet later attended and confirmed the devastating cause. The pony had suffered multiple bite wounds consistent with a dog attack. Her rug had been torn with bite marks, part of her ear had been bitten, her legs were covered in wounds and she had a fatal injury to her stomach.

This poor pony was 26 years old and had been happily retired, peacefully enjoying her days grazing in the field.

No horse deserves to die like this.

Please keep dogs on leads around horses and livestock. Even normally friendly dogs can chase or attack, and the consequences can be devastating.

As a councillor I will always help residents and animals wherever I can, but this is a call I never expected to receive and one I truly hope I never receive again.

If you walk your dog near fields with horses or livestock, please keep them under control and on a lead.

If sharing this post makes even one person clip their dog back onto a lead near horses, then this pony’s tragic death may at least help prevent another.

Horse owners across the country live with this risk every day. Please help spread this message.

Good Morning,

I hope you’re all well. I’m sure many of you will agree — I can’t wait for spring to arrive!

I just wanted to touch base regarding drop-off and collection times for your dogs.

Over the last few months, I’ve noticed an increase in late arrivals after scheduled appointment times. This has a significant impact on both myself and other customers, as once I fall behind, it can be very difficult to catch up. I will not rush through appointments, as doing so comes with significant risks to both myself and your dog. Your dog’s safety and wellbeing will always remain my top priority.

Please be aware that, as per the terms and conditions, late arrivals may result in the appointment being shortened, rescheduled, or subject to a late fee. This is to ensure fairness to all clients and to allow the day to run as safely and smoothly as possible.

I kindly ask that you arrive promptly for your appointment time and collect your dog when notified. If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible so I can try and manage the schedule accordingly.

On the flip side, I always aim to give what I believe is ample notice when your dog is ready for collection. However, recently I have frequently found myself waiting in the salon for dogs to be collected. This has unfortunately resulted in me missing appointments, school runs, and other important personal commitments.

Please understand that I do not hold a boarding licence and therefore cannot keep dogs on the premises beyond their allocated groom time. In addition, dogs are not insured to remain in the salon if I am away from the premises.

For this reason, prompt collection when notified is essential. Continued late collections may result in a late collection fee being applied, or future appointments being reviewed.

I truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping the salon run safely, professionally, and on time for everyone.

2026- First day back, and it has been a challenging one.
Despite a chest infection, an asthma flare-up, and snowy conditions, the day was successfully completed.

Thank you to all clients for your flexibility and for attending your appointments — it is greatly appreciated.

With temperatures expected to drop significantly overnight, please allow extra time when travelling for your appointments tomorrow.

If you are unsure about driving in these conditions, please message me as soon as possible so appointments can be rearranged where necessary.
