We hear it all the time at Mud & Magic…

“I don’t know what it is, but I feel so relaxed around the horses”

Usually from parents who came for their children. 🤎

And they are so right!

There’s something about being around horses that asks you to slow down.

You stop rushing.
You become more present.
You notice the quiet.
You breathe a little deeper.

And for a little while, there’s nowhere else you need to be.

Maybe that’s why our parents often leave looking just as regulated as their children. 🐴🌿

When we created Mud & Magic, we wanted it to be somewhere children could just be.

No pressure.
No expectations.
No need to be anything other than themselves.

A place to play, explore, get muddy, make friends, love ponies and feel like they belong.

So when the children themselves tell us they don’t want to go home…

The deepest sleep is only possible when a horse feels safe.

Seeing Cass rest like this is something I’ll never take for granted.

Horses are prey animals. To lie down and drift into such a deep sleep is a sign that, in this moment, he feels secure enough to completely let go.

Cass trusts the world enough to sleep. Lyla trusts him enough to sit beside him and draw 🫶🏼✨
