🐾 A happy ending for Nelson 🐾
In early August, Nelson was admitted to our hospital as an emergency after becoming weak and collapsing during a walk.
When he arrived, Nelson was critically unwell and was cared for by our Internal Medicine, ICU and ward teams. Following extensive investigations and treatment, he was diagnosed with severe acute kidney injury, liver disease and inflammation affecting multiple organ systems. The underlying cause was suspected to be toxin exposure.
Over the following week, Nelson received intensive nursing care, close monitoring and treatment from our multidisciplinary team as they worked together to support his recovery.
We’re delighted to share that Nelson responded well to treatment and was able to return home to continue his recovery with his family.
A huge well done to everyone involved in his care, and of course to Nelson for being such a brave patient.
Nelson’s owners say that “he is back to his wonderful crazy self with infinite amount of energy to run and play.”
