Bella’s Journey Begins… 💚🐾

Today we met beautiful Bella for her very first meet and greet. Bella is a very worried little girl, but it’s important to say that she is not aggressive—she’s simply nervous and unsure.

When Bella first met us she was barking and clearly feeling stressed, so we took everything at her pace. As the meet and greet went on, she began to relax, and we were so proud to see her confidence slowly growing.

Ivy was an absolute star. She was calm, gentle and incredibly respectful, reading Bella’s body language beautifully and helping her feel more at ease. Dogs often teach us just as much as we teach them, and Ivy showed Bella there was nothing to worry about. ❤️

We also met Bella’s lovely owner, who clearly wants what’s best for her. We love working with owners who understand that some dogs just need a little extra time, patience and understanding. By the end of the meet and greet, we think she was pleasantly surprised by how well Bella had settled.

We won’t be rushing Bella. We’ll continue to build her confidence step by step, allowing her to progress at a pace she’s comfortable with. It’s definitely a match—we just need to give her the time she deserves.

With her owner’s dedication, Ivy’s gentle nature, and lots of patience, we hope Bella will soon become part of the Stay at the Ivys family.

We’re excited to share Bella’s journey with you, from day one to, hopefully, becoming one of our happy daycare members. Every dog deserves the chance to grow in confidence, and we can’t wait to celebrate each little milestone with her. 💚🐾

At Stay at the Ivys, we do not accept aggressive dogs, but we are always happy to work with nervous dogs who just need a little extra time, patience and understanding.

I truly believe you never stop learning when it comes to dogs. Every training session is an opportunity to build your knowledge, strengthen your relationship with your dog, and become a more confident handler.

In my opinion, A1K9 are the best trainers around. They don’t just train dogs—they give owners the confidence and knowledge to understand and communicate with their dogs, bringing out the very best in both.

Their protection dogs are incredible to watch and are a real testament to the dedication, skill and standard they achieve. It’s easy to see why they have such an outstanding reputation.

🌿 Introducing Ivy’s Adventure Experience 🌿

A premium one-to-one countryside experience for adventurous dogs.

At Stay at the Ivys, we believe every dog deserves the chance to enjoy something truly special.

Our Ivy’s Adventure Experience has been carefully created for dogs who love to explore. We’ll collect your dog from home before travelling to beautiful private countryside in Monmouthshire, where they’ll enjoy approximately 4–5 hours of sniffing, exploring, swimming, paddling, relaxing and simply enjoying being a dog.

One of the highlights of the day is the stunning natural fishery pool, where dogs can safely swim, paddle or cool off in a peaceful and secure setting.

🐾 Every Adventure Experience includes:

• Home collection and drop-off
• Safe and comfortable transport
• Approximately 4–5 hours of countryside adventure
• Acres of beautiful, private secure countryside to explore
• Access to a stunning natural dog swimming pool
• Plenty of fresh water, rest breaks and enrichment
• Photos and updates throughout the day

Although your dog will be out for several hours, they won’t be constantly on the go. Every adventure is led at your dog’s own pace, allowing plenty of time to sniff, explore, swim, rest and simply enjoy the surroundings. By the journey home, most dogs are happily tired and usually snooze all the way back.

For their comfort, dogs travel safely in our vehicle using either a fully secured extended hammock, creating a large, cosy space across the back seats, or in our secure boot area, depending on what suits them best.

One of the biggest benefits of Ivy’s Adventure Experience is that it’s perfect for dogs with unreliable recall. As our adventures take place on fully enclosed private land, dogs can enjoy the freedom to run, explore and play safely in a secure environment without the distractions of public parks or passing dogs.

❤️ As this is a premium one-to-one experience, we welcome just one adventure guest at a time. This allows us to tailor every adventure to your dog’s individual personality, confidence and pace, ensuring they receive our full attention throughout the day.

Before joining Ivy’s Adventure Experience, every dog must:

✔ Complete a meet and greet with Ivy.
✔ Be friendly and comfortable in new environments.
✔ Be happy and settled travelling in the car, as transport is included with every Adventure Experience.

🐾 An exciting little update from Stay at the Ivys! 🐾

Over the last few weeks, I’ve had so many enquiries about daycare, and it’s made me realise just how many owners are looking for a safe, home-from-home place for their dogs during the day.

So, while we’ll still be offering limited overnight boarding, our main focus is now on creating the very best daycare experience.

Whether it’s a half day, full day, adventure day or evening care, every dog will enjoy a day tailored to them with enrichment, walks, play, rest and lots of one-to-one attention before heading home happy and content.

Daycare is perfect for dogs who:
🐾 Spend time home alone while you’re at work.
🐾 Would benefit from confidence-building in a new environment.
🐾 Love company, enrichment and having fun.
🐾 Need anything from a gentle potter to a more adventurous day out—we cater for all exercise abilities.

Although Ivy is a Labrador, don’t let her size fool you! She’s a wonderfully gentle girl who happily lives with our little Jack Russell, Bailey. Every dog is introduced carefully, and their comfort always comes first.

We currently welcome small to medium breeds only, and all dogs must be friendly and social with people and other dogs, with no history of aggression. Every booking begins with a meet and greet so we can make sure we’re the perfect match.

And just to clear something up… it’s not just for Labradors! 🤭 They do seem to be spreading the word though, because my enquiries are becoming very Labrador-heavy! 😂

We had the pleasure of having Honey stay with us overnight🐾🥰

She had lots of fun with Ivy, was so respectful of our lovely old gentleman Bailey, and this morning she enjoyed our early morning trot, where our niece Esme and my sister Esmes owner joined us

It was so nice watching honey enjoy her little adventure with us. Thank you to Honey for being very respectful to our old man Bailey and being a absolute sweetheart with Ivy also Esme enjoyed her kisses this morning 🤣🥰🐾🐶

✨ Another exciting milestone for Stay at the Ivys! 🐾

I’m so excited to share that I have officially been granted my Type 1 Animal Transport Authorisation! 🎉

This means I’m authorised to transport animals safely and legally on journeys of up to 8 hours, giving me the opportunity to take our registered dogs on even more exciting adventures while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.

Whether we’re heading off for a countryside walk, a secure adventure field, or a fun day exploring somewhere new, you can have complete peace of mind knowing your dog’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing will always come first.

I’m always looking for ways to give the dogs in my care the very best experiences, and this is another exciting step forward for Stay at the Ivys.

You don’t have to wait until you’ve booked a holiday to register with us. In fact, we’d encourage you to start the process early.

Take your time. Let your dog settle into a new environment at their own pace. Every dog is different, and some need a little longer to build trust and confidence.

Our registration process includes a meet & greet, compatibility assessment, home visit, paperwork and an overnight trial. We can also build up gradually with half-day and full-day stays before an overnight, so your dog feels safe, relaxed and happy every step of the way.

At Stay at the Ivys, we’re all about making the experience as stress-free as possible—for both your dog and you.

If you’re anything like me, the thought of leaving your dog can be daunting. That’s why we believe in taking things slowly, building a relationship, and making sure everyone feels comfortable before a longer stay.

By the time your holiday comes around, your dog won’t be staying with strangers—they’ll be coming back to familiar faces and a place they already know and love. ❤️🐶 based in mountain ash
