🐾❤️ CAN YOU HELP US GIVE 10 RESCUE DOGS A SECOND CHANCE? ❤️🐾
Here at Lower Hey Boarding Kennels, animals have always been at the heart of everything we do.
But alongside kennels and transporting much-loved family pets, we're also working towards something very close to our heart — helping dogs who haven't been fortunate enough to experience the love, safety and security that every animal deserves.
Through BFG Rescue, we're working alongside Sorana’s Strays Rescue, a small, dedicated rescue organisation supported by volunteers in the UK and Romania.
Sorana and her wonderful team work tirelessly to help abandoned, unwanted and vulnerable dogs, often in heartbreaking circumstances.
Recently, they've taken in three separate groups of puppies, all desperately needing the opportunity for a better life. Thankfully, foster carers are ready to welcome these little ones, but first there are considerable costs involved in preparing them for their new beginnings.
❤️ AND THIS IS WHERE WE'RE HOPING YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP.
We've set ourselves an initial fundraising target of £5,000 to help bring 10 rescue dogs from Romania to safety in the UK.
Each dog costs approximately £500:
🐶 £260 — Transport from Romania to the UK.
🐶 £240 — Veterinary preparation, vaccinations, blood tests, brucellosis testing and the necessary documentation.
Here's a little thought...
If just 100 of our wonderful customers, friends and supporters donated £50 each w,e could reach our entire £5,000 target and give 10 dogs the chance of a completely different future.
Of course, £50 is simply a suggestion. Whether it's £5, £10, £20 or whatever you feel comfortable giving, every contribution would be enormously appreciated.
And I completely understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. There's absolutely no pressure or obligation.
❤️ HOW YOU CAN HELP
If you would like to support our appeal, donations can be made directly to our dedicated BFG Rescue bank account:
Account name: BFG Rescue
Sort code: 40-35-26
Account number: 92136317
Payment reference: Rescue Dogs
Even if you're unable to donate, simply sharing this post with your friends and family would be a wonderful way of helping us reach more people.
We'll be sharing updates about the dogs we're helping, their progress and hopefully their journeys into loving homes, so you can see the difference your kindness is making.
Over the years, I've been incredibly fortunate to meet so many wonderful people through Purrfect Pet Transport, and I've seen firsthand just how much love people have for their animals.
Now I'm hoping that together, we can extend a little of that love to dogs who need it most.
Thank you for taking the time to read our appeal, and for whatever support you might be able to offer.
With my very best wishes,
Mark

🐾 PART-TIME STAFF WANTED – KENNELS & CATTERY 🐾
We’re looking for a reliable, caring and hardworking person to join our team and help with the day-to-day care of the dogs and cats staying with us.
The role will involve working across both our boarding kennels and cattery, including feeding, cleaning, exercising dogs, caring for our cats and generally making sure all of our animals are happy, comfortable and well looked after.
🕘 Usual working hours: Morning: 9:00am – 1:00pm
Afternoon: 4:00pm – 6:00pm
We do need someone who can be reasonably flexible with these hours when required.
As the owners are also involved in transporting animals throughout the UK and Europe, there will potentially be opportunities for additional hours and more extended working days when we are away travelling.
🐶🐱 We’re looking for someone who: • Genuinely enjoys working with dogs and cats
• Is reliable, responsible and trustworthy
• Is comfortable with the physical side of kennel work
• Can work well independently as well as part of our team
• Has some flexibility to provide additional cover when required
Previous experience with animals would be helpful, although the right attitude, reliability and genuine care for animals are just as important to us.
This could suit somebody looking for regular part-time work who would also welcome the opportunity for additional hours at certain times.
📍 Lower Hey Farm, Mossley
Interested? Send us a private message telling us a little about yourself, your experience with animals and your general availability.
🐾 Please feel free to share this post – the right person for our animals might be someone you know!

Another wet week here at Lower Hey Boarding Kennels and Cattery, won't stop us having our fun playtime 😊

07/08/2026

It's been a busy week at the kennels with building works being completed, so we have new fencing on our dog walking area and a new roof on the inside run. We've taken a large donation from DogsNHomes charity for our food bank and we've reached over 1000 followers for BFG Rescue so all in all a good week on the farm.
