Archie's Cat & Kitten Rescue

Archie's Cat & Kitten Rescue We are a small family run rescue, based in Northumberland. We chose our name in memory of our beautiful springer Archie, friend to 100's of rescue cats.

We will rescue, rehabilitate and re-home all cats in our care to their forever families.

Loving this little video from Mandy. It’s so lovely to see Inca and the kittens thriving

I can’t wait to get home and spend some time with them all before they’re ready for adoption. After everything over the last couple of weeks, I’m convinced a good dose of kitten snuggles should be prescribed as therapy! They’ve certainly given me something positive to focus on and look forward to during my recovery.

I think Mandy might have to smuggle a few of them into hospital for me if my stay gets much longer 🐾💕
We've already had quite a few enquiries about the kittens! If you'd like to be considered when they are officially for adoption, please get in touch and we'll send you the relevant information for you to be added to our list
As always, the kittens will be rehomed in pairs in line with our usual adoption policy, giving them the very best start in their new homes.
I can completely understand why there's so much interest in them already—they're all adorable and we'll be taking extra care to ensure they go to the very best homes, where they'll be loved and cherished for the rest of their lives.
Thank you for your understanding and support. 🐾❤️

Good morning everyone, it's Mandy here. Apologies for not posting this week, it's been a very difficult and worrying one with the complications around Joanne's operation. She has been very unwell and has had a real fight on her hands. The good news is that she is now heading in the right direction. Her recovery will be slow but she. now has access to her phone and any news, photos etc about fur babies will lift her spirits.
Inca and her kittens are doing very well. They are such a lovely little family, although the kittens are not so little and are becoming real characters. I will put some photos on but don't expect them to be up to Joanne's standard. There's a reason she does the posts! 😂

A lovely little video of Inca and her babies. ❤️

She doesn’t take her eyes off them for a second – even when she’s eating, she's still keeping a watchful eye on her precious little family. Mother cats are incredibly devoted to their kittens in those early weeks, constantly checking that everyone is safe, warm and well fed

It won't be long before these four curious little explorers are toddling over to investigate Mum's food and trying a few mouthfuls for themselves!
Inca is doing an amazing job now and it's lovely to see her so relaxed and attentive with her babies. 🐾💕

Every day brings a new milestone, and we can't wait to watch them grow. 🖤🐾

Rehoming just over 300 cats and kittens over the last four years is something I'm incredibly proud of, but rescue is about so much more than numbers.

People often see the happy endings – the adoption photos, the kittens finding loving homes, and the updates from families who adore them. What they don't always see are the sleepless nights, the worry, the vet visits, the heartbreak, and the constant juggling that comes with rescue.

Despite the emotional ups and downs, seeing a once-abandoned, frightened or sick cat thriving with their new family makes every challenge worthwhile. I often wonder what would have happened to many of these cats and kittens if they hadn't been rescued. Knowing they are now safe, loved and cherished is the greatest reward of all.

One of the unexpected joys of rescue has been the people I've met along the way. Many adopters have become friends, and I've been lucky enough to build a wonderful network of supporters, donors and fundraisers who help make it all possible.

A huge thank you to Mandy and Penny, Norma, Madeleine and Davey, Monika and Marguerita who do so much behind the scenes for Archie's. Thank you to Andy, who has lived amongst the chaos for years and loves the cats just as much as I do. To Katie, a very special girl whose patience and kindness with even the most nervous cats is incredible. And to Robert, who steps in to care for everyone whenever we manage a rare short break away.

I also want to thank the amazing team at Coquet Vets who have helped save so many sick cats and kittens over the years. Their dedication and care have given countless cats the chance of a happy future.

New Beginnings have been so supportive especially most recently taking on a few cats who I couldn't see through to their adoption. If you haven't already followed them, please give them your support too!

Rescue may be emotional, exhausting and sometimes heartbreaking, but it is also full of friendship, kindness, community and love. Thank you to everyone who has adopted, donated, shared a post, fundraised, volunteered or simply supported us. Every cat safely curled up in a loving home is proof that together we really do make a difference. ❤️🐾

Inca's kittens are growing up! They are 4 weeks old today and are beginning to toddle around and explore. Joanne took this photo when she visited today. It's so lovely to see them alert and thriving but bittersweet when we think about little Sami. Rescue is full of ups and downs and these four are bringing a lot of joy after a very difficult few weeks. Mummy Inca is doing well and seems very proud of her babies. I'm not sure how she'll feel when they start eating her food and running rings round her but at the moment she is very chilled.

Big cat room clear-out day today. 🐾

It feels strangely quiet in here now, with just Riley and Jasmine left keeping me company. Our two little scaredy-cat semi-ferals are still sticking to what they do best — watching everything from a safe distance and pretending they definitely don't want any fuss.
After all the comings and goings, the room feels very different. A little quieter, a little emptier, but Riley and Jasmine are making sure there's still plenty of cat hair and suspicious side-eye to go around. ❤️🐱
Sometimes it's the quiet moments that remind you just how many cats have passed through and left their paw prints behind. 🐾💕

🌈🐾 Pet Memorial Day 🐾🌈

Today we remember the pets who are no longer by our side, but who will always remain in our hearts.
They were never "just pets." They were family. They were our shadows, our comfort on difficult days, our reason to smile, and our most loyal companions. They greeted us at the door, stayed close when we needed them most, and loved us unconditionally.

Whether you lost your beloved companion recently or many years ago, the memories never fade. The paw prints they left on our hearts become part of who we are.

Today, we remember every wagging tail, every gentle purr, every cuddle, and every moment of love they gave us.

We also remember Archie, a gentle friend to so many rescue cats and kittens, whose legacy continues through the rescue that was named after him.

To everyone missing a cherished pet today, know that you're not alone. Their lives mattered, their love mattered, and they will never be forgotten.

Share a photo or tell us about the pet you'll be remembering today. ❤️🐾🌈

A little update on Winnie ❤️
As many of you know, Winnie needed a long-term foster placement. Unfortunately, with my planned surgery next week, I'm unable to provide the ongoing care she needs.
Thankfully, New Beginnings have kindly stepped in and found Winnie a wonderful foster home, and I'm delighted to say she is already settling in well with her new humans.
I can't thank everyone at New Beginnings enough for their kindness, support, and help in ensuring Winnie has the care and stability she deserves.
Mandy will be taking over the page and will continue to keep you updated on Inca and her little family while I focus on my recovery.
Thank you all for your continued support — it means so much. ❤️
