Saturday event at Wolfwood taught me a lot.

I’m aware of how I may sometimes appear to my peers… and it is never my intention to come across as unpalatable. ❤️

😊 But I do believe that honesty is the only policy and I’m genuinely enjoying every minute.

My focus has always been — and will always be — wholly patient-centred. 🐕🐾

I’m determined to get back to old-school care.
The kind where we know every single one of our patients on sight.
Where we genuinely care about their owners too. ❤️

Every decision I make comes back to the same question:

“Is this the right thing for the patient?”

If that occasionally makes me a little difficult, outspoken or not everyone’s cup of tea… I can actually live with that.

Because I would rather be known for caring too much and speaking up than for staying quiet when I believe we can do better.

I will not stop pushing forward, improving, learning and providing for our local pet community.

🐾 Patients first. People cared for. Honesty always. 🐾

🐾 DID YOU KNOW? 🐾

There are thousands of Registered Veterinary Nurses across the UK… but only a very small proportion have successfully gone on to gain specialist qualifications in the nursing of exotic species.

I’m very proud to say that, some how, I am one of them!…..holding the 3 year long, life halting, City & Guilds Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species — Cert C&G VNES. 🎓💙

ChatGPT says It’s a relatively rare, specialist post-registration qualification covering the nursing and care of a much wider variety of species — not just our cats and dogs! 🤩

…and plenty of the weird and wonderful!

Although there doesn’t appear to be an official published figure showing exactly how many UK Veterinary Nurses hold the qualification, (let down by Chatser….) it was a specialist programme with relatively small numbers successfully completing this level of additional training.

And that knowledge still plays a big part in what I do at VP Pet Hydrotherapy & Health Centre because I’m not very good at a lot of things…

So when I disappear off to look after something with scales, feathers, a shell or far too many legs… there is actually a qualification behind the obsession. 😂🫶

🫶Our fantastic suppliers of Grain Free are changing a few things this month……

1) Our bags!
They will still be compostable but they will be more robust generally 🥰 We gift all pee’d on bags to charity for free so this will help reduce our losses 💔 but we’ll still look after them with clean ones!

2) The weight!
They will be growing to an impressive 13.5kg!
I have lion shared the price increase and you get 1.5kgs more (2kg bags are priced at £14.99) for just and extra £3 🫶

Unfortunately our more boujee flavours will increase slightly

Huge well done to KIRSTY'S PET CLINIC for pulling off a fantastic day for Wolfwood Dog and Wildlife Rescue. Nice to catch up with familiar faces and lots of new ones.

Thank you Super Sam for putting up with me all day and hanging on like a legend to the Gazebo in those gales 😂😂😂🫶
