Dougal comes in for a bath in between his grooms. Its keeps his coat in tip top condition, nourished, mat free and smelling amazing.

He really doesn’t like his legs or beard touched at the groomers, most likely from being brushed out while he’s tuggy. Even the HV drier is a no go on these areas 😢.

This is exactly why I love what I do. Iv got the time and the patience to work with each dog, respecting their boundaries and nervous systems at all times. They aren’t naughty dogs just fearful on the most part.
Can’t say I blame them, I still remember my mum putting my ponytail in for school with 5 minutes to the bell 😱🤣.

Dougal is such a lovely friendly doggie, he really is. I love when he comes in 🥰. I also love that he was nearly sleeping when I was drying his legs and beard. He was looking at his legs and realising they are getting touched and it feels nice. Baby steps always 🙏🏻🥰🐾

Little Trevs puppy intro is complete. Three sessions getting him accustomed to grooming.

Grooming puppies is super hard work. They have such short attention spans and loads of energy, mix that with the razor sharp tools we use and you can image how tricky it is. When they are over it we’re done.

He went home fresh, clean and choppy 🤣. I’d much rather that than hurt and forever fearful.

He was such a good boy. Hopefully iv set him up nicely for his future grooms. How cute tho 😍🥰❤️🐾

Aww, lovely Hazel 😍. It’s just amazing how far we can come with fearful dogs just by taking time restraints, force and predictability out of the equation. I also didn’t realise just how important our breathing is in this process. I thought being calm was enough but noticed the subtle shift in Marvin when I was working with my breath in the correct way.
It really is the little things (and a paint brush) 🥰🙏🏻🧘‍♀️🥰🌿🐾

This why I integrate Tellington TTouch into my work as a groomer.
This gorgeous boy does not like his feet being touched. I started off with a paint brush going round the feet for seconds. By the afternoon I was doing Turtle TTouch on his feet. His guardian was amazed at the huge shift from ‘’don’t touch the feet please’’.

Marv and I were back to school on Sunday.
Positive Paws Dog Training Perth UK hosted a Tellington TTouch workshop with the lovely dog whisperer Hazel Ralston Shampooch Dog Grooming.
Marv “do not go near my feet” Kleppangs paws were putty in her hands by the end of the day ✨.
It’s such a beautiful peaceful approach, I can’t wait to bring what I have learned into my grooms for all your doggies 🙏🏻❤️🐾
